Anyone had it? How bad does it suck? Friggin right hand...

I've not had it but have heard it's a crap shoot to see if it hurts bad afterwards. I had a friend have both done. His left hand hurt like hell but the right one gave him no pain at all. He has had full recovery from both.

Had both hands done. Could have gone back to work the same day the first was done if not for the cast my doc put on but not so much on the second one.

One piece of advice. Take the pain meds they give you before you need them and you won't need them.

Oh and I have had no problems since they healed.

Find a GOOD chiropractor first. I had a bout with this several years ago. He took care of it and explained the reason I was having the problem. I think it was about $15 a visit then. 3-4 visits no problem since. YMMV, but certainly may be worth a try.

My wife is a RN in same day surgery and sees these suregeries quite often.

I'll ask her if she knows the success rate of them.

Had both mine done at the same time as a severe hand injury on left hand
Healed from the injury and the grip strength diminished alot in both hands.

I second the chiropractor visits first.

Wife had her right hand done in May. 1 month recovery for her. Said it feels great now. Her hand was going numb prior to surgery too. No issues since.

A family member had both done a few months apart. She said the first one was a breeze, the other one took a little longer to heal but great results after the surgeries.

Need to double the pistol practice with the left hand... Gonna call tomorrow for the appointment. Thanks for the moral support.

Had both done about 35 years ago. Did right hand first, wanted to cut my right arm off about 1 to 2 am that night. But the next day was bearable. I'm right handed and other than that first night, the hardest thing is to wipe left handed. You should get in some practice beforehand. Left hand went much easier. Dr. told me that it would eventually come back, but so far so good.

thanks folks. I practiced for a couple of weeks cause I knew yesterday was going to be a little awkward. bill you are dead on about first night. all will be good in a couple of weeks.

Had my right hand done Thursday was done 15 years ago. Dr said it wasnt done correctly(whatever that meant) rode around with a forum member the rest of the day. Then drove home Out and about yesterday. 3 advil all day. Took the bandage off today. 1 spec of blood on the bandage. technically only wiped left handed 1 day thank God.

Took my bandage off after 6 days and the incision was infected, damn near my whole hand. Went to doc on following Tuesday and the PA said that it looked angry. I said angry my ass, its infected. Pulled the dead skin off, put it in another damn splint and put me on Keflex for 3 weeks. Went back to get the stiches out and put me in another damn splint for a week. It's pretty much healed up now but I've got trigger finger in two fingers. I will honestly let my left hand rot off before I do this again. It had to get infected at the hospital. Screw dat....................
