After many years of shooting, yesterday i experienced my first case head seperation. 308 in a fal. Waiting on the extraction tool to come in the mail so i get back to setting up a load for this gun.
Funny thing is it wasn't my reload. It was Freedom Munitions remanufactured ammo that I was using as a baseline.

Try getting a bronze brush that is a little big for the case and shoving it into the case. The bristles will be bent back to the rear. The bristles might grip the brass case enough for you to pull the case out.

I had this happen once with some reman 9mm. Finally worked the brass out with needle nose pliers.

Best thing to do for immediate action is shove the next round up in there and extract it... 9 out of 10 it comes right out.

Had this happen on the 600yd slow fire one day...only thing I had time for.

Truth. Done it.
Can't remember if it was a forward assist rifle or not, but mortared her and out came one live round shoved up in a split case.

Hasn't worked for me. I've ordered and failed with a cheap extraction tool, now have a half pound of cerrosafe on the way. Wish me luck!

I have had several freedom remans do the same thing usually during a match. They claimed they fixed the issue but I am still seeing these here and there.

FWIW I gave away 260 rds (for components) of New Freedom Ammo 168g Amax 308 due to cases sticking in the chamber of my 700 and buddy's Sig AR. Also many had flattened primers and primers that seemed to flow around the firing pin. All signs of overpressure. Customer service was a joke. I'll never buy from them again. PS I ran a test run of 60 rounds prior to buying the 260 and had no issues. My gun still has no issues with any other manufacture of ammo btw.

Thanks for the heads up on the issues with FA reman. I got the stuck shell out and had a chance to fire some more of the same lot. So far out of 60 rounds fired I've had 5 case head separations, 1 neck case seperation, and 4 nearly separated case heads. I also ran 20 rounds of my reload through without a hiccup.
