If you leave home and get a couple of miles away and discover that you had forgotten your cell phone, would you go back to get it?

If you leave home and get a couple of miles away and discover that you had forgotten your carry gun, would you go back to get it?

I'll admit that I have gone back to get my phone. And, once I had forgotten my carry gun but I had a J frame in the console that I stuck in my pocket and made do with it.

I am too he point in my life that I forget so much crap I have learned to get by without it.

With that said, firearm alswAys in the car. We heading out that is more than 30-45 minutes away, always have a backup to the backups

Depends on where I'm going. I can get by without both for a day. I'd say I'm more likely to go back for my phone than ccw.

I have made that trip for both so yes and yes.
And let’s add morning coffee to that list. I’ve turned around for that too.

Well, maybe you can get by for a day without the cell phone, but the gun... what if today is THE DAY? If you think you can get by one day without the gun, you can get by EVERY day without it.

Cell phone and gun are not comparable. I think the OP is to see how we prioritize the gun.

I got about 15 mins away from the house this morning and had to turn back to get something that I forgot. It wasn't my phone... I forget what it was... But I got it...

I have 4 things I recite to myself before leaving the house, phone and gun are 2 of them. I never forget any of those 4 items, but other stuff I mean to take with me I forget all the damn time.

Two is one and one is none as far as CCW
Phone, meh
I guess it depends on how far I’m going. I try not to get to accustomed to modern technology although I’m very used to it. Always think what if we done have it anymore.

Good question. It would depend on where I was going and how far away from home I get. Also makes me think I should create a hidey spot for a backup gun in the car somewhere. Although I don't really want to leave a gun in the car all the time. My daughter uses it for work and school events on occasion. I could see that going terribly wrong.

We all got by for years, some decades without a cell phone. We've all adapted to living with our phones and in some cases relying upon our phones. Millions of people get by just fine everyday without a ccw, in some places you don't have an option. I completely understand that some may feel naked without their ccw and I too put a very high importance on it, but I also know that I have other means of defense albeit not as effective. Because of that, I certainly won't be making it a habit of forgetting my gun, but I'm also not going to freak out if I do on rare occasion.

Phone is an “oh, darn” guess I don’t ha e to answer calls, texts, emails all day, shucks”

Ccw? That’s the same firearm as my car gun, my bob gun and the “all else fails” buried in a locked box in my tools gun. I’d just grab one of those for the day. :D

Haven’t forgotten my ccw yet, but I have a backup plan:cool:

I've left both at home and not cared, and I've gone back for both. Really depends on what I'm leaving to do. I can't be at work without my phone. What I leave most is my bluetooth.

I hate to admit I do this one regularly. I need a coffee in the morning so I'm awake enough to remember my coffee.

1)- Knife, 2)- phone, 3)- gun, 4)- wallet, 5)- Front Tooth, I realized I forgot the fake toof after driving an hour a couple days ago. Nothing like making professional cold calls with a missing front tooth

I'd have to go back for both. My wife won't let me go back to get my phone if we're together, because she doesn't want work to call.

I have a spare gun tucked away in each vehicle, sometimes I may go back for my phone just depends on how far I am going.

Phone, no. Gun, yes.

Although if I am going to work and coming straight back home afterwards, then I may not come back for it. I work at a nuclear power plant, and we have a small army in the security forces that makes me less concerned about my safety there (plus, I can't take it out of the vehicle and way).

Anywhere else I'm going though, I will turn around to get it.

In a related story my neighbor called me last year and laughing said that he left his 1911 on the kitchen counter. Cocked and locked, no holster. He was calling to ask if I was meeting him at the range that night. I told him I was hanging up and going to his house to get his gun. He said no need. His wife and daughter are fairly anti-guin and have zero experience handling guns. IMO that gun needed to be out of their reach. Plus the wife has been in rehab and is on medication post therapy. IMO she is wacked. I went over and got the damn gun. He should have turned his butt around and went home.

Ive gone back for my phone, but I admit I haven't gone back for my gun before. I keep something for special occasions tucked away.

Forgot my CCW for first time in 6 months Sunday when rushing to get ready for motorcycle ride with friends. I didn't go back to get it because 2 other friends on the ride had theirs. If they hadn't, I would have gone back to get it.
I gave forgotten phone multiple times and, unless I know I'll need it, don't go back to get it, although if I'm on the motorcycle and somehow had forgotten the phone I WOULD get the phone, as it's the source of my music (Bluetooth to helmet).

Phone, oh well. It's been along time though since I have forgot it.

Pistol. I keep a small 380 in there at all times. Just I case ;)
