we got rained out for our first try of week IV, so let’s try this again...

We're going to do US National Whitewater Center, North trails. So far, weather looks to be 83F, not too bad.

One of the best parts about USWNC, aside from their 40+ miles of varying difficulty of trails, is the Pump House Biergarten!

When: Saturday or Sunday??? 9AM
Where: USNWC trails - https://usnwc.org/visit/facility-map/
Parking: There is a $6/day parking fee, or $50/yr. The plus side to this is that I'm pretty sure all parking fees go towards trail maintenance.
Lunch: Pump House Biergarten for beers and lunch after the ride (great burgers!)

Next up on our Tour de CLT, the new trails at Fisher Farm in Davidson. Their grand opening is 6/16.

Saturday or Sunday works for me, no preference. If no one has a preference we’ll just default to Saturday.

If anybody wanted to just show up and eat...about what time should they be there. :D

Karen and I will be there, bringing up the rear as always. Saturday works for us too.

We’re camping at Stone Mountain GA and won’t be in until late Sun. One of these days I’ll be in town for a ride! No mountain biking here. Just hiking trails and lots of road riding.

And the trails are opened up. See y'all in the morning at the same meeting spot

Hey guys, my brother and I are at the scca autocross this morning. We'll catch you all next week!

Yep, another amazing day! From the great trails to the unbelievably perfect weather to the awesome burgers at the end. Amazing.

A few pics to remember the day by:

When and where do you want to ride? Post up. Im looking to throw down a few miles tomorrow somewhere.

I plan on trying out Laurel Loop at LNSP tomorrow morning. I haven’t ever been on it before and am still pretty new to riding so I ain’t much fun to ride with. Do you ever make it that far up 77?

I’m probably not riding tomorrow. Ol lady wants to do the lake thing.

I have a strange schedule. I’m free on weekdays from 9-2 and busy other times. I’ll have weekend time available in a couple weeks.

I have done all of LNSP. Good, fun trails.
Laurel Loop is a good one. 9 miles of a solid workout.
It will be crowded tomorrow.

Im thinking about Dupont State Forest myself.

My brother and I are going to hit white water center tomorrow morning if anyone is interested.

I to ended up with one more bike last November. We need to get the group rides back up and going

Very nice!

And agreed, we do need to start the group rides up again! Sadly I haven’t been on my bike since a couple weeks after our last ride. I hate staring at my still shiny new bike literally collecting [saw] dust in my garage.

I did about 11ish miles at Hickory City Park. Absolutely love that place. Not a bad trail at all out there and one awesome 1/4 mile long jump line

Haha, I just did two laps at Purser! Looks like we all hit a ride in before the rain! Need to have another group ride once all this blows over.

I’m planning on riding at least once a week going forward. May even get some evening rides in since I’m working from home and don’t have to waste and hour commuting home then to a trail.

We should definitely get the group going again, but probably best to do after the worst of this stuff dies down.

Did 48 miles today (road bike). Can’t even remember last time I was on my MTN Bike. Sometime last fall I think. Need to pump the tires up and hit the trails

Just took the new bike to North Meck for it's maiden voyage. North Meck is one of the places the Marin threw me over the handlebars (twice in fact).

What a Revelation the new bike is! Even though it has a Pike. (That's some high-brow fork humor right there folks.) Rode two laps and the new bike never once scared the crap out of me - whereas every single downhill segment on the Marin was a butt-clencher. The Marin in XL was just completely wrong.* Oh well, live and learn. Time to ride. :D

*Marin must agree; if you look at the new Hawk Hill in XL and compare it to mine they significantly increased the stack height.

Well, what did you end up with?
Pics or its borrowed....

Haha, well, let's just say it has a full GX drivetrain, Shimano M8000 brakes, and a Pike, and leave it at that. Any further discussion on the topic will only result in derision and embarrasment on my end.

So you went BD.

Busted. But it's a nice bike. The Kinesis frame looks fantastic in person and the hardware is way better than the Marin's was - all for $800 less.

Also, it's not out to kill me, which is nice.

edit - The Hightower was a very close second choice. The geometry looked great, and the bike was spec'd well for the price given it's from a top-tier manufacturer.

Looks fine to me.

So would anyone be up for a ride this Saturday? Is it worth posting a new thread? Staying six feet apart will not be a problem for me since I will be miles, not feet, behind.

I could do one. Not sure where all is open. Maybe the WWC or Hickory

I’m definitely down to ride Sat. I was actually going to PM you about it.
I was at WWC last weekend and could ride there again if it’s easiest for everyone. They’re open & have parking... that’s more than can be said for other trails.

North Meck has parking allowed but all the buildings are locked. I only mention that for anyone on the north side that might want to get a quick ride in during the day.
