I buy and trade a little here and there, not much, and as little as I do I am seeing more sellers renege or not even reply that they won't sell for the agreed price.

So, when someone list items here on the classifieds do yourself a Favor and at least do some market research FIRST.

I can handle a NO even after a price is agreed on.

What I don't care for is wasting time or arriving at a meeting place and have No Shows.

Concerning FFLs, some of the dealers will not order a firearm that they are asked for because , (( Really ) ) they don't like the firearm in question. ( I am NOT talking about a $100 POT Metal pistol either))

So, to the FFLs that practice that policy,,, Please don't complain when we buy on line.

Apparently, for a while, its become a buyers market.

FWIW

As for the dealers, it may be an issue of who their distributors are and whether they are forcing smaller shops to order more than one specific pistol to help them get rid of excess stock at this point. Not saying that's the case, but sometimes threes more to the story.

Agreed.

The Negative Feedback Subforum is the only way to know about which member has reneged on a deal.

And it you have solid proof through PM or text they won't be a member anymore and the problem is solved.

Sorry you had the experiences you did...mine have been positive so far.
Three deals from the BST so far and two more pending with no issues on either side.
I hope it gets better for you...

Sorry to hear that. I've had nothing but positive experiences both here and the "other places".

I've had only one deal with @YeeHaa and I found it to be just about perfect. The man was where we agreed to meet at the time we agreed on.

Sorry you may have dealt with less than stellar members. I've been fortunate so far.

If all my deals here are as good as the other place we should be good to go. For the most part, it's the same folks. And the ones that do come in and try to swindle someone, or back out of a deal will find out right quick that we aren't gonna stand for that mess

At the other place,we did a pretty good job of policing ourselves, something that has to continue here, if you think a deal wasn't conducted with integrity this needs to be reported to the moderators. I like that we have a code of conduct that we're expected to adhere too,and the ones that can't must learn the correct way to conduct themselves when doing business with other members or face the ban hammer.

Thanks,
Because of geography our trading was a little involved and everything went smooth.

I do,

The members in question are ones I have traded with before and with no problem~s.

As not to cast a net over Kcult, he followed through as planned no problems what so ever.
Matter of fact I think we had to rearrange things a few times but he followed through. Thanks for that Kcult.

The largest thing I don't care for is the wasted time and possibility of other missed opportunities when all along the other party does not communicate.

As I stated, I don't trade a lot so when I get a few back to back it gets rather annoying.

That's specifically why we have a negative feedback forum.

Positive feedbacks can just get posted to the users profile page.

We need to know about shenanigans when a deal doesn't go through. We will discuss it in the back room and address the problem.

This one is on all of you, you have a trade history with someone and all has gone according to plan. Then, something happens and a deal falls through. It is up to you to decide if you just need keep quiet or report it. After all, things happen to all of us that can't be foreseen. That said, good ol honest communication will work just about every time.

All the deals i have made through this and "other" gun forums have been very positive. My wife gets concerned when i go to grab gun stuff at night. I tell her these are some of the safest deals i can get into. Safer than her craigslist deals in broad daylight. That being said, stay vigilent and out publicly those with bad behavior.

One thing that sets communities like CFF apart from many other places is the fact that we are a real "community". Over the years with just a little effort one can get to know most of the members here on some degree of a personal level.

I've personally never had a negative buying experience here (other than the time I lost the ability to read and offered $200 less than someone was asking for a pistol...sorry Scari).

Agreed, however with what little I buy from here and I get a few deals gone sideways because of a LACK of communication on their end, it smells like CL.

For the record, I have also had a few normal experiences, as it should be.

Fruits in every barrel. Just make sure to post them up in the feedback section as has been mentioned. We all rely on self policing.

I've had one bad experience so far on here. Guy was selling a Streamlite TLR 1, he told me I had it and I told him send me address info. I went back that afternoon and he'd sold it. Pissed me off! Won't deal with him again! Overall, I've have great experience with this site.

Ditto here. Single digits, and all have gone smoothly. Most have been face-to-face, so that helps.

I have sold and bought four pistols here, and all were done by PM. That is what this community becomes. Not that it was a secret, but you get to know people well enough, and they you, that you don't even have to "advertise" what you have to sell, except to that person, or the short list of folks who you already know might have interest.

The feeling of community on this site is second to none. Besides the desire to do the right thing in general, i value my reputation on this site. Stuff happens and things get screwy sometimes. But i for one make damn sure i deal with integrity here. This is the only place id set up a deal to drove an hour to buy an item. I did that this weekend to grab an upper. The person that i meet on the other end of the deal is most likely going to be a good egg and the gas money and time is worth it to me to deal with good folks. Besides down the line i know the good karma will come back to me on another deal. I do not have that confidence anywhere else on the net.

Why do I have a feeling most of these successful deals take place during boating accidents?

Mostly successful deals on this end, and I hope they continue.

I will echo many of the above sentiments in that I have never had anything other than great experiences in the BST both here and the last forum I used to belong to.

Honest and clearly worded and described ads with photos indicating exactly what you want coupled with good old open communication seems to do the trick 99% of the time. There will always be one of "those" but they seem to be outed rather quickly and move on so long as the membership does their part in reporting them.

Now if I could only sell some more of my stuff, er, I mean one-of-a-kind priceless weapons and gear to @kcult :)

Only had great dealings here and at the other spot.
Shame to hear that some are not having great experiences

Yeah I already had one welsher on here. Sad when people aren't as good as their word.

And here I was about to sort through crap and post more.

NOW I HAVE TO DO IT! Also, I'm not driving to you, cause, well, don't drive. You can tell me "no," that's fine, last girl that told me no I pulled out a Pez dispenser and she just started sobbing as I hobbled into the sunset eating candy. Mu always has the last Pez.

Dang boy it's good to see a post from you I thought you had done fell off the face of this planet,

Listen, it's not my fault I have a problem with the "red right return" concept. I thought the little white buoys with diamonds were shortcut markers, that meant "full speed here".

We all know you looove the little white buoys...
