Here's the target for the February challenge:

3GDB33o.jpg

The target is attached to this thread or it can be downloaded from here:
https://www.airgundepot.com/printable-targets-article.html

Print on an 8.5x11 sheet (landscape)
Distance is 50yd
No full mechanical rests

Scoring:
SMALL TARGETS (6 targets per side, 12 total). The 1/2 small target behind the word "airgun" doesn't count.
black center is worth 5 points
gray ring is worth 4 points

MEDIUM TARGETS (2 targets per side, 4 total)
black center is worth 5 points
gray ring is worth 4 points
white ring is worth 3 points

LARGE TARGET (1 target)
red center is worth 10 points
each consecutive ring deducts 1 point (9, 8, 7, etc). outer ring is worth 3 points
  • One shot per target, 17 total shots
  • Breaking the edge of a scoring ring will count for the higher value
  • A miss will count for zero points.
  • If you miss a target, but your shot lands in another target you take a zero for your intended target. However, you will not penalized for the shot on the unintended target. If you have any targets with more than one bullet hole then score the highest value. But you should have no more than 17 shots on the paper.

Lastly, the LARGE target will be used as a tie-breaker. Closest shot to the center takes the win in the event of a tie.

Have fun!

Looks like another good one.

Well printed out the targets and attached them to backer board. They are in car ready to go for the morning (Wed. morning). Now if the wind would hold off that would be nice!

So went to the range this morning. Windy as all get out. Twenty mph winds and gusting even more. Shot one target and called it quits. Had a meeting to attend and wanted to shoot some pistol test loads. Here is a pic of the target (upper left) Did not even bother to score it. Was not worth it. Targets have to be hung on chicken wire and they were blowing all over the place. And that is my EXCUSE!

Edit: Finally scored it. 73 + center 10 =83

I'm seeing 83/90. Not bad at all. I gave the benefit of the doubt for anything that was close since I couldn't really tell.

I counted bullseyes for everything except:
1st, 4th & 5th on the small left
3rd & 4th on small right
Bottom two mediums

Made it back out today. Top score today was 80 I shoot better when it is windy
Anschutz 64sbr
Eley Target
T-36 scope
Temp: 52
Wind: 0
Cloudy/Mist

What happened with the zero? Did you just forget to shoot it? I don't see a random hole anywhere.

I'm hoping I get out Tuesday morning. Planning to meet somebody at PHA early if anybody wants to join us. I'll have to sight my new rifle in (assuming I can pick it up before then) and then shoot the Jan & Feb targets.

I usually just load the magazines with the number of shots I need and this time I loaded all four magazines with 5 each and thought I shot all targets. Did not even realize it until I got home and scored everything.

Had the range completely to myself today too and still lost count. Was able to shoot some USBR targets with timer. I like that. Just can not do it when there are a lot of people at the range.

Thought I would participate this month. I shot it 4 times. 81, 80, 73, 67
1030 2/17 45 degrees, wind gusts switching between E and NW
CZ 452, Vortex Diamondback 4x12 AO, Boyds AT-One stock, Harris bipod, squeeze bag, SK+ StandardIMG_20180217_152241.jpg IMG_20180217_101724.jpg

Looks like it'll be Thursday (2/22) instead...still PHA.

If anybody else is going to be there, let me know.

Well the weather finally was pretty good today, so I gave it a try between wind gust. I had to reload once, and when I got back on the target, I shot one of the targets twice, oh well my first shot was better but I scored the lesser score. Fun, I will try again next weekend if the weather holds out. IMG_0651.jpg

After a couple weekends of rain and a weekend of the flu, I finally made it out to the range to give this a shot.

Marlin 917V
Mueller 8-25x44 optic
Hornady 17gr vmax ammo
front rest, rear bag

Posting a score of 79. I almost shanked a miss on the right side, 5th target down but I managed to break the line (whew)

I keep counting 80. Only one in question to me is the 5th one down on the left side. I'm counting it as a 5...is it really a 4?

(Easiest way for me to score them is to count the "misses", and assuming they're in the next closest ring, deduct that number from 90. And so I'm seeing 10 targets that missed the bullseye.)

Looks like a five to me also.

Made it to the range tonight (wake county) and shot 4 targets - 77, 78, 83, and 84.

CZ 455 Varmint
Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 x 40
Sinclair Lightweight Rest in front, Protektor Bunny Ears Bag in back
ELEY Match

Hope pic is ok - taken w/ phone and posted from tablet.

Thanks @nbkky71 - was my last shot of the night. I knew it was good but couldn’t really see it (black hole in a black circle) until I went to get it. Was wondering if I missed the whole damn target :D Fun times!

I swear that it looked like a 4 to me the first time, but an OnTarget review shows that it did break the line. Thanks for the extra point, but I'm not in the running for the win, especially after Mike59's center shot! :D

Is there a target for March?

I was curious about that as well. I just installed my optic on my new FVSR and want to join the fun. I’ll probably go to Wake Co tonight to sight it in.

@mike59 Looks like you got top score. Choose a target for March if you would please

@ECNC - oops ... forgot all about that curse ... err I mean privilege :) Just seeing this and I have to head out for the evening so I won't get a chance to go looking for something worthy of you guys until tomorrow morning. If someone else has an idea of something you'd like to use for March go ahead and jump on it.

Yes you have been cursed! I do not have anything. Hopefully someone has something to put up.

Just got back in time to see you guys are all over it. Both look good to me and look forward to playing!

Thanks @nbkky71 .

And thanks to you too @Zbizzle911 !

You guys both rock!

Someone please pick something before the weekend. I have a lot on my plate this month and this may be the only weekend I make it to the range.
