Chainsaw...best GP bar length?

Good lord. I ran a little Stihl with a 16" bar for a couple hours on Saturday and I was beat. I can't imagine running that thing.

Oh, and I still need to pay you a visit in the very near future. Seems we have a couple things in common...

C'mon over!

First, I'm not sure why this thread is in the Garage subforum, unless the newly acquired chainsaw will reside in the garage. Second, that Kobalt saw that @Tim, then I bought, is the trick. Third, I cut down the first of about 40 Leyland Cypress trees and it's already gotten complicated.

This tree had two empty nests in it. I found those while limbing my way up. When the tree fell, a dove flew out of it. I started cutting the branches off, but stopped when I seen da babies.

I don't really want them dead, but not sure what to do with them. They're under a heat lamp right now.

I shoved the nest in the next tree. If mama dove doesn't find it, they'll not make it through the night. It's supposed to drop to 44 overnight.

Not sure how this stuff works in the bird world, as far as mamas finding young'uns

I'm starting to figure out this Kobalt saw. The chain has jumped off at least four times since I started using it. It seems it doesn't like awkward cuts. Regardless, it's been awesome, so far.

Progress pic. The entire fence line was trees. Six are down now. My neighbor would complain about them periodically. I hope he enjoys sunshine, because he's going to get it by the truckload, now.

This view is looking east.
