chainsaws are good

Easy. I fit the correct size stone bit four my dremel tool. Makes quick work.

I have had good luck with that but the stone wears out before I get around the blade. And it wants to cut circles for some reason.

Showed up the cabin this weekend andnmy leaning, dangerous tree has fell on its own! But 3 others have been destroyed by something. Looks like some massive wind just tore the top off.

Grabbed an electric 12" Stihl saw to limb the downed trees. This little thing is nice. Can use one handed to trim small stuff and cut trees to decent size, Battery dies too quicknbut charges very quickly too. Could use a spare or two.

I have a long driveway, and there are times a small tree on the edges will fall.

Twice I have used an ax to chop them so I could move them off of the road. ESPN makes chopping wood look easy. Maybe I just have the wrong kind of ax.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

That reminds me, I need to sharpen my Parang Machete and Ax for the next time it happens.

I do have an 18” chainsaw, but I had forgotten to get the 2 cycle oil. I finally bought some this past week.

Spent Monday and Tuesday cutting up and splitting some large mountain oaks and 2 White oaks that were dying (ants). Ended up with 8 truck loads hauled to the house by mid-day Tuesday. I bought a new maul last year and it has more than paid for itself. It's nice to get out on the cool mornings with tools that work. It's instant gratification.

Stihl 362 has been by my side for the last decade. I try to work smart not hard. I know how to use manual saws, axes etc if I need to, otherwise I've got better things to do with my time.

Being able to sharpen my chain properly and keep up with my bar I find to be an incredibly great skill. One that I am proficient at and the rewards are vast.

I still have the very first chainsaw I ever owned.

Cuts as fast today as it did back then. I am a little slower though.

Funny, when I was a kid the sound of a running chainsaw was something that really mad me happy.
Somethings never change.
