CHAPPIE is coming to life

Well, here's to hoping they can't take a load of buckshot straight to the side, because I really hope people will shoot the things.

They are actually pretty tough, check out the Boston Dynamics vids on YouTube. It wouldn't be too hard to armour the core against small arms fire, maybe the head. Arms and legs are fairly quick change iirc

What concerns me is once a few of these get snagged, armed up with c4 and BBs and run into a mall crowd before going boom. Suicide bombers who don't even care is a scary prospect. You could deploy it out of a minivan a few hundred yards from the target and have it prance right into the crowd. If they're common as police units people may not even notice until it blows up.

What scares me is the open source programmable AI... Even if the cops don't arm them, someone will. (Not that I believe the cops won't)

Im sort of shocked noone has gotten one of the larger drones, strapped on a nasty claymore full of BBs and airgun darts and flown it over a crowd or political rally. Unless they're jamming GPS it wouldn't matter if they jammed radio, since it could be programmed to fly itself in now.

Coming soon?

Beowulf or 12ga slugs...hmmm, which one to start carrying in the truck.

Jokes aside that tech isn't that far off. We have global databases for facial recognition. If you have your targets smartphone IMEI they broadcast their location to you constantly. Drones are getting better and better at flying themselves. AI is learning to coordinate more and more.

It's pretty worrying honestly. Imagine an Islamist group setting this to kill everyone in a church. Or anyone of the wrong skin shade. Or not wearing a burkha.

Or Killary using contractors to target not only the person she needs to remove but anyone in the vicinity to make it look like random terrorist action.

I’m betting some 325gr FTX .458 Socom loads running 1750-1800 FPS will knock limbs off, once I have it flashed and reconfigured I’ll worry about reattaching the limbs lol

You carrying the 335 grn or the 600 barn bullet for the Beowulf?

I have 335gr JHP and FMJ.

But I’d also be interested in seeing how the 200gr PolyCase Inceptor rounds did at 2,500fps.

I’ve got a bunch of the 335, but I’m going to pick up a couple boxes of the 600 grn from a buddy of min e in Linville who stocks it.

I think I need to contact Micheal about some of his solids for my 45-70.
