Well, the cylinder release on my CA 45 was sticky from the get go. I had hoped that it would loosen up. I fired 25 rounds in the first range session. Took it out again last week with plans to run at least 100 or more through it to get a feel for it. After firing the second cylinder I couldn't get the cylinder to release. Took it by a local shop where a guy showed me how to open it (screw driver to pull out the ejector rod). Got it open and he showed me the screw that needed to be adjusted. It's on the face of the frame where the ejector star goes. I back the screw out until the cylinder released and opened as it should. Then I marked the screw head position with a sharpie. Haven't fired it since but have loaded and unloaded it a few times. I checked the screw head position and it seems to have moved. Not surprised. Guy at the shop suggested loc tite. I called Charter. Nice lady on the phone said I could fix it myself, just mash down a couple of the screw threads so that it won't go in so far. I'm not sure how that will keep it from backing out.

I'm trying to avoid taking this to the gunsmith or sending it back. I'm pretty sure using loc tite on the the screw is the answer (not sure about buggering up the screw threads). I just want to make sure I don't keep something from moving that needs to move.

Any suggestions here? Or anyone have any experience with this issue?

Thanks in advance.

If it doesn't work why jury rig it?? Send it back the manufacturer for a proper fix or replacement. Once you do anything they will say it was modified outside of the warranty and you're SOL....

Happens with some CA’s. Blue Loc Tite is the answer that works.
