I purchased a cheap laser sight on eBay for under $20
Just to see if they worked and I really don’t a lot of expendable money right now to spend on such things.
When I received it the sight looked nice, aircraft grade aluminum, attached easily and firmly, bright red laser beam, and adjustable windage and elevation using set screws and enclosed allen wrench’s. I had no problem sighting it in. The problem arose when I shot my weapon, or just racked the slide or even just hot the laser with my hand, it went out of alignment any jarring or vibration would knock it out of adjustment. I decided to take it apart and therein lies the problem, they cheaped out on the adjustment mechanism all they used was a piece of spring steel between the two set screws and the laser itself, the spring steel was just sitting in there with nothing to hold it in place, sure you could get your adjustments but keeping them was not possible with the way they set it up. Ok so my question is has anyone found a good cheap one that stays in alignment? Or are they all garbage?

Not sure all of them are garbage but all of them that I've bought have been. :(

I've never owned one but I have seen two of other people's violently catch fire. Either they used sub par lithium batteries or they shorted out. Both failed while in use (under recoil).

The best one I've seen, designwise, is the Sig laser. They used to come included with the SP2022 package. They have a relatively recessed control switch. Unlike the cheapo lasers, in which the control protrudes so much you can't lay the pistol on the wrong side without it turning on the laser.
