Chicago hospital shooting

Fox reports suspect in custody and was shot, officer shot and in critical condition,
possible two deaths and report that gunman shooting a female in parking lot multiple times.

Wait, don't they have gun laws in Chicago?

Ex-fiance
A man who witnessed the Mercy Hospital shooting said a man shot a woman three times in the chest outside an entrance. After she fell to the ground, he said the man stood over her and shot her three more times.

sounds like a nice guy..

And yet at one point, she was planning on marrying him. Chicks dig violent men . . . at least until things go too far.
And maybe she decided not to marry him because he was violent. I've know plenty that said they had no idea.

Gee, 6 bullets? Was it an fully semi automatic assault revolver.

If at first you don't succeed; shoot her three more times.

What else would you expect them to say?

"I knew he was violent, but that just made my vagina tingle, so I stayed with him until he sent me to the ER."

Most women who voluntarily chose a long-term relationship with a violent man knew of his violent tendencies before things got out of hand; they just misjudged how far it would go or whether they would be on the receiving end.

It's like the Ray Rice situation - when a man is that violent to his woman, you can bet that getting KO'ed is not the first warning sign she got of his nature.

In other news, one killed and 10 wounded in Sunday shootings in Chicago.:(

We don't.
Do I really need to caveat every general statement with NAXALT?

Of course there are women who don't like violent men or men with dark triad traits. But there are many who do, most especially in their teens and 20s (i.e., peak fertility, which is not a mere coincidence). As women grow older, they can get tired of the issues involved in dealing with such men.

It always amuses me how much more clueless white and Asian men tend to be (on average) regarding this than black men. In my experience, the average black guy understands female nature much better than the average white or Asian guy.

Most is a broad brush. A common pattern from women I've known is that everything changed after they got married. Others have said there was no clue until one day... Abusers also tend to be very charismatic. They're great guys to everyone else. They're very good at apologizing. "I'm so sorry, it won't happen again.", until it does. They also tend to blame the victim, you made me do this. Unfortunately, many women are ready to accept that blame. Then there are the fixers. Yeah, he's got a mean streak, but I can change him.

Again, if the truth is he made her panties wet with his dark triad personality, and that's why she stuck around despite knowing there was danger (in fact, the mere hint of danger itself can be a panty wetter), is she actually going to cop to that after he beats the crap out of her? Of course not. Most women will play the completely clueless/innocent victim role.

Does that seem plausible to you? What's the saying about marriage and change? Men marry women hoping they never change. Women marry men hoping to change them.

Let me present an alternative explanation to the women's claim that the man changed dramatically after marriage: The women expected the man to "grow up" and become more responsible after marriage, so that she could enjoy the sexual attraction of the dark triad male but at the same time have the dependability of a responsible husband and father for her children. But unfortunately, the man didn't change as expected, the woman nagged and eventually there was violence.

The clues were there long before, but she was enjoying the ride too much to worry about that.

Yep, dark triad. Let me toss in another broad statement - chicks dig emotional rollercoasters. And dark triad guys deliver that in spades.

Hell, I've learned to put women through the emotional rollercoaster not because that's my nature, but because it works. Dread game is very effective!

Oh boy. Now it's the woman's fault!

Well done JR. I'll wait for the resident feminists to chime in.
Stove is hot.

Some of us are not speaking from theoretical basis and have seen the results first hand over and over. And yeah, when a woman invites a macho A hole into her life because she thinks he's cool and he turns out to be a macho A hole, it is on her. Not saying she deserves what she gets but she should have seen it coming.

Freaking bitches wearing short skirts too huh?:eek:

I'm surprised there's not more mass shooting in Chitcago. There's nobody there legally armed to put up much resistance or to serve as a deterrent besides the police......

This wasn't a mass shooting in the classic sense. It was just a domestic disturbance that took place outside the home. The perp was only looking to murder one person, but when police gave chase, his blood is still hot, so he keeps shooting while trying to flee.

People close to me had a similar experience. Guy tracks down estranged wife, murders her, and shoots bystanders who were trying to diffuse the situation.

Domestic disturbance situations are live hand grenades - steer clear and do not engage unless you absolutely have to.

Yeah, you do. Lol. You can't just say chicks like violent men....couldn't you put some kind of qualifier on it? How much of your time would it have taken to say, "some women/chicks..."
I don't say men are assholes....but some men are, in fact, assholes.
That was all I was saying.

There ya go again!! "Some chicks..."

LOL. Just assume any comment I make about any population group has the implicit caveat NAXALT, as not every member of a population group will share the same physical or psychological traits.

Really, you should make that assumption about anyone's internet posts, otherwise the internets will have you hopping mad all the time. ;)

If it will make you feel better, I can add NAXALT to my signature.

That's very nice of you!!! Please add it.
I just want to make sure you state explicitly what you actually mean to say...even if it does piss me off! Lol.

And is "some" such a bad word, really?

So you are only attracted to church deacons? Never once had a jonesing for a bad boy?
I'm attracted to men who have respect for me and who don't need to play roller coaster games with me. Maybe I'm just boring.
I've met the bad boys, but they aren't that interesting to me. Too much crap for me to waste time on. Superficial stuff isn't fascinating.

Just remember that all law enforcement officers get the benefit of the doubt until we have ALL the facts, but you freaking women are just dumb asses. 3 minutes after you are killed.

ALL of us are dumb asses, or just SOME of us are dumb asses?

Just remember that multiple studies show domestic violence in law enforcement families is significantly higher than the general population, to the tune of around 40% of police families (higher than the rate in the NFL). So to your point, this is not all that much of a departure from his usual stance.

That said, @drypowder is dead on with regards to group behaviors of women in general. This is why series like 50 Shades of Grey are immensely popular, because it appeals to the base desires that are hardwired genetically into the female psyche.

Now, I am not saying women desire domestic abuse. But I do agree with dry that as a group, females are attracted to males who, as a group, are the gender of our species physically and genetically predisposed to violence. It is this same attraction that draws beautiful women towards men of power (as power is simply a projection of violence), even as those men are either abusive, caught up in scandals with other women, or are generally regarded as pigs.

Doesn’t make it all alright, but life is full of very uncomfortable truths.
