Went into the lgs today. This particular one I've been avoiding because he always has something I want.

I have been a good boy for over a year so I will be buying a pistol as a reward.

I have all my "needs" taken care of.

This lgs has both a sw686 SSR (used) and a RIA Tac II in 10mm for about the same price.

If one or the other had been there. I would have bought it right then...

But the choice has thrown me for a loop.

Which should I get and why?

Yes I reload:)

Do you have either caliber already? Could one of them better fill a hole in your collection?

This. make it fun for everyone......…...add the poll.

As for me I vote for the sw686 SSR. Popular gun, awesome round, and will always be able to "sell itself" if that time arrives.

Have never owned either caliber. Have been wanting a 10mm hard for the last little while. But after running a friend's SW 627 over the years, a Smith revolver is a want as well.

? That mean a mod shall create one for me?

That would be ideal
Done. The poll closes in two days. We’ll call that your cooling off period. :D

Oops. I’ll delete mine

I intend to buy one or the other first thing tomorrow;)

I have wanted both types for a while. Both being there made me pause for the cause lol

1911. Duhhhhhh.......
I've had several 1911's. All in .45 though.

I've shot many a .357 revolver. All I have owned were .38 snubs.

Hence the conundrum. A 1911 in a caliber I've always wanted to use. Or a revolver in a caliber I've always wanted to own;)

Ding, ding, ding...……….we now have a decision and a winner.

I have a 686 and a 10mm RI, and both are absolute stellar firearms. But >if< I had to choose between the two it would be the 686. 10mm is extremely fun and useful, don’t get me wrong...

But the smith can cover a lot of itches...from shooting hot .357 wristbreakers all the way down to powder puff .38 for practice. It’s just an all around good option to have in the stable.

Holy wow! You super edited the heck outta my posts.... I looked back and took me a minute to realize:p

Respect. Truly respect! This is the essence of what I'm thinking.

Very well put:)

The SSR .. One of the best out of the box double action triggers I’ve felt in a semi-custom revolver as far as weight and feel. It is about 9 to 9 1/2 lbs but smooth and constant. The single action trigger is about 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 lbs and breaks nicely. I shot everything from puff .38 wadcutters) which felt almost like .22lr out of the L-frame 686) up to hot full .357mag loads which were very manageable.

A 4” .357mag revolver is probably the most versatile handgun out there and everyone should own at least one.

Ooooo. Then for extra fun. I could buy a safe finally (I have a cabinet inside a concrete block room with a stout locked door, inside my locked house)

Or.... For less monies. I have a super hankering to try a CZ P-09 that they also had. Super slick. I want:D

But I am thinking a "fun" gun in all steel is the way the moment:cool:

@Brangus. Thanks:)
