I have a sweet neighbor lady that has just turned 89 years old. She is a firecracker and still in pretty good health. Joanne and I kinda adopted her and try to look out for her and help her out. We've taken her to doctor's appointments, picked up groceries for her, taken out her trash, just little things to help her out since she's alone.
This morning she calls me and asks if I can come over. I go over and she says she has something that she wants to give me. It's her gun that her husband bought several years ago. She doesn't have enough hand strength to pull the trigger. She says that she feels safe with Joanne and me close by.
I tried to refuse and told her to keep it and if she wanted me to have it, just leave it to me in her will. She said she wanted to do it now so her family wouldn't have to deal with it. She didn't disclose the reason but, she didn't want anyone in her family to have it.
It's a Smith & Wesson Model 38 Airweight Bodyguard. It's never been fired, it was loaded and kept in a nightstand for years.
