So my wife is all about practicality. She only wants things she will use. So I'm thinking about a wireless charger for Her iPhone and I-watch as one unit. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which kind seems there are some nice ones but they all basically look like crap. I wish someone made a nice wooden one.

So I guess the theme of this is what are the great ideas you've had in the past and present for Christmas to help ya all out.

I am envious of your situation Cowboy!

Pracicality eh?

My wife thinks the important things in life come in very small boxes and are shiny!

However, we know we are a blessed nation when they can WANT something shiney and not NEED something to eat!

BTW: I am kidding about the tiny boxes.

If she has her iPhone in a protective case she have to remove it every time she charges.
The charger pad gets pretty hot when the dielectric gap is increased.
Note so if you put one of the thin magnetic plates for a car mount on the case.
I bought one a few years ago. Don't even use it anymore.

I have used a wireless charger for years without taking the case off. Has never once given me a problem.

A paid weekend AWAY with a GF of her choice. We (as men) do not realize how much we grind on her nerves and get under her skin day after day after day. Give he a few days away ALONE, or with her BFF and you'l get a new woman back in return....

WHO DON'T. I assure you most of my grinding is well thought out.

If it were me, I'd go with a new vacuum, or a new mop if the vacuum is outside of your budget. Both fit your criteria and women LOVE that sort of thing.

You can thank me after Christmas. :D

Likewise. Iphone 8 (work) Pixel 3 (personal) Samsung S9 (wife's) all work on various wireless chargers here in the house with Otterbox cases. They don't get hot or anything either.

You laugh but my wife's favorite gift ever was a new dyson cordless vacuum. The worst gift she ever got was from her mother the first year we were married. Obviously you know how difficult the first year of marriage is with figuring out bills and trying to buy Christmas for not just your family but both. Well her mother went crazy over board and bought her art work from an art store at South Park mall that was a really cool picture of the court system and she paid well over 5k for it. I have never seen a person cry so much in my life. My wife was so upset that her mother wasted 5k dollars on crap and could have give it to us and simply made life easier. Since that time it has sat in our closet.

I’ve gone many ways on gifts. I like items used at least weekly. Ipads and phones to stay in touch with grandkids. These are always used. Shoes and boots. What woman doesn’t have a closet full and need more? Coats, sweaters, flight tickets.

This year maybe some shock treatments.

My wife. Oh she has the closet full she just don't need no more.

I always do 1 doz mani-pedi gift certificates.

Smart man.

I guess I'm just a grinch and the wife and I have been together too long. We haven't exchanged gifts in years. I don't really see the point. All of our money goes into the same pot. If you want something and the funds are there, go get it.

We’ve decided we’re doing trips from here on out.

We’ve started a tradition of staying in N Myrtle for NYE.

Have a Charleston trip planned for her bday, went camping for mine.

I’m with @JohnnyTyler on this one. I really dislike buying gifts for people other than kids. This will be our first Christmas married but I have no intentions of buying her anything. I also don’t buy for parents or siblings, but will buy all of the kids something.

My wife noticed a theme to her last few Christmas gifts. They all were to my benefit.

Example. She plucked the pairing knife from my Victorinox knife kit and was using it to cut everything in the kitchen. It had a black handle. I found a set of four with pastel colored handles on Amazon. When she opened the gift, she started off thrilled, but that quickly turned to "Wait. You got me these so I'll quit using yours!"

A little blue box with a white ribbon on it. Whatever is inside never disappoints.

Funny stuff!
But you still deserve a pop on the head for that one! LOL.

That would go over like a lead balloon with my wife.
She suffered the loneliness of 5 years of month+ long China trips (2 years cumulative).
No more alone stuff.

My wife loves to go shopping with me and I have no idea why. I freakin' hate shopping. But since she does, I usually give her a few gift cards to her favorite stores along with a hand-made coupon for a "shopping assistant for a day". Then I bite the bullet, for a day. :D

I know it sounds lame but it makes her happy. <shrug>

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I prefer the combination alarm clock/phone charger. Since we got rid of the land line, I prefer to keep a phone bedside. Mine is teh style with a built in lightning port, but they now make them with a wireless pad. I use the USB port on the back to plug in my Fitbit Versa to charge it.

Nothing is lame if it brings joy. I have yet to find the magic combo of gift + joy for my wife.

If we're happy to get a new woman back in return, would they be happy to get a new man back in return?

This. I flew my wife’s sister to CA when we lived there and paid for them to spend a weekend at a Napa Valley spa while I took care of the baby. Mucho brownie points were earned.

That would be great but I don't think I could afford a greyhound pass and hotel 8 reservation to Greensboro let alone the Napa Valley.
We have a $100 max limit.

Find a simple local place. Doesn’t have to be a long weekend. Give her a day with a friend at lunch and a nail salon or something. Or a simple massage. And you knock out one of her hated chores for her.

my avatar is our new dog.
she asked for another and said it would be her ABC present: Anniversary/Birthday/Christmas/etc. done and done.
