Just stuff $5 in the stocking and be done with it. No shipping cost. One size fits all. And always the right color. ;)

That takes away all the joy of returning stuff on 12/26. :(

This is in the wrong forum....

My MIL gets me a jar of pickled herring every year if we go up there. She wraps it then gets pissed when I guess what it is and I wont unwrap it.. It's cold, right out of the fridge.

My side of the family never wrapped stocking stuff. Stocking was left by Santa and I was able to root at it before who ever was there woke up. Her stupid side of the family wraps everything and it is done the night before, never has made sense to me.

My wife will be busy stuffing stockings.

In our yout' the tradition was she decorated the tree and stuffed stockings, in her stockings ;)

Spotted these at Walgreens tonight. Somebody might end up with a bottle in their stocking!!

:D

What is that? Shaving cream? ā€œPersonal lubricantā€?
It's "personal lubricant"...not shaving cream. o_O

ETA: and if you really don't get it, maybe this helps:

"What inexpensive things have you bought for stocking stuffers?"
1. batteries. eventually, something will need them.
2. flash/thumb drives. the kids like them.
3. $2 bills. the kids don't believe them.

He was shopping for a friend????
Funny thing is the wife actually saw them. I was looking at some crap on the end cap, and they were just around the corner. She starts laughing and calls me over.

If ya'll promise not to tell LJ I'll share one of the worst stocking stuffer ideas I ever had.
About 3/4 years ago LJ and I stopped giving presents to each other but still put up our stockings above the fireplace. I had traditionally always given her a $250.00 Victoria's Secret gift card. After she got the last one she alluded to the fact that she had enough VS to last her for a while.
So, me being the clever devil I am I took 5, $50.00 dollar bills, folded them and secured with a paper clip. Somehow she missed it being in her stocking and didn't find it. For the Last 2 years she has missed it being there, but I checked and it's still there!!
Do I tell her or leave it alone again and see how long it takes for her to "discover" it??

Has she cut off anything since then?

Each year, you need to add interest to the amount. You know how they think.

Got a reco for a pocket knife sharpener?

Guys... this is a great thread and got me thinking. How many of us have family that just doesn't really "GET" our lifestyle? You know, the always prepared, ready for anything handy type person that can get things done when something goes wrong.

What a great idea to add to the stocking presents with our type of good stuff:

1. Pocket Knives
2. Sharpeners
3. Flashlights (With Strobe ability for protection)
4. Hoppes #9 (For the ladies as perfume) LOL...
5. Compass
and other type items.

Interest heck, mine would expect the same amount for every year, whether or not she missed it. Best pony up BB, she might be checking up and "missing it" on purpose.
At least you could say "honey, I hadn't checked, I assumed you were removing it every year."
