Cigar of the day

Smoked the Liga Privada T52 last night.....don't know if I got a dud or not but it just wasn't as good as the #9.
Draw was tight till the last 3rd...flavors were weak at first but kicked up a little bit at the nub.

Looks like you needed another cut to open the draw up a bit

Think I've found my cheap smoke...gotta try their other offerings.
A 5'r of these was $15.95 at Mike's....just barely over $3 each by the box.
I call it a medium/full in strength, creamy texture and a pepper kick. Great draw and burn...loads of smoke.

Cigar(s) of the day...today...it was barter time with Casablanca Cigar Bar here in town. They needed me...I barter...they do too!

I'm growing fond of the Oliva Serie O and V. Consistently good quality, burn, flavor. Been picking them up in 10 packs off of C-Bid for a little less than half price.
These have all been the 6.5 x 52 Torpedo's.

MUWAT - Kentucky fire cured

Definitely takes some getting used to. Definitely a full flavor and medium to full strength. Plumes of smoke on the draw, but idles with very little effort or smoke. Ash hangs on for about an inch before consistently dropping off so be prepared for that. Lol

Found a cool little cigar shop near Waynesville today...returning from the grandson's t-ball game. Smoky Mountain Cigars! Nice husband and wife run shop.
Robert insisted that I try a Cucubano from Southern Classic Cigars...and I'm glad I got two! Man what a good smoke! I'd call it a medium in strength, but it started with
a real peppery kick on the light.....then very quickly mellowed out to a really smooth mix of spice/wood and a really long finish that ended with a faint oil texture. Very very smooth.
The burn was razor sharp, perfect ash, perfect draw, tons of smoke on the draw but faint at idle.
This puppy was like my favorite meal of sausage biscuits and gravy done right....where the salt/pepper/and sage have been used in perfect doses and the gravy ain't too thick or too thin and the biscuits
are hand made!
Prices there seemed a bit lower than the norm, and this was an $8 single and well worth it!

Camacho - soft and spongy wrap, needs a bit of attention to keep lit. Mediocre smoke at best.

Oliva series V - still my personal favorite

Nub - haven't found a nub I haven't liked. Razor burn line and great all around smoke.

Leaf - it was ok. Wouldn't buy another one, but was worth the trial run.

Ok. I was worried you might have a problem. Need to get you that Tvek and discuss it over a Habano just to be sure...
That sounds like a plan!
Especially if you bring me back a cohiba and a couple partagas

You liked my last pic, did you look close? Already have a few... Just need a good excuse and the requisite burn time...

I will be touring the Partagas factory in Old Havana though FYI...

Over the past few weeks I've tried a couple of the Drew Kentucky Fire Cured offerings. Not bad, but like BOG said...takes some getting used to.
The Cucubano from Southern Classic Cigars have become a favorite, but they are hard to find.
My truck now prefers to drive to our SC place via I-85...and stop at Tobacco Plus in Greer (massive humidor and selection).....so much so that the last trip
took the funds set aside for the last two windows for our cabin build and spent it on a box of Undercrown Gran Toros and 4 Liga Privada #9's. (I installed plywood drops over the window openings)
C-bid hasn't had my Oliva "O's" on fast fall all week...but I got good supply a few weeks ago :)

Been a while, but the wife picked me up a few for my birthday. After resting a bit over a week I brought out this one. So far, not real impressed...

Flavor is a solid "ok"...
Maintenance so far is a pita.

Had to knock the ash off and relight the damn thing. Definitely going on the the do not buy list.

After yesterdays total disappointment? Went with a good standby.
