I am considering buying a Cimarron 45LC and was wanted to know if anyone has one and how they like or don't like it?

I have a Taylors Smoke Wagon in .357 which is the same thing (except for caliber) with different grips and a little fluff and buff. Both made by Uberti. I haven't used it in cowboy action, but for general target shooting it's been fine, no problems. I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality, it's better than I expected. Very nice trigger, almost too light - but it's not a carry gun. Base pin is tight. I replaced my base pin with a polished stainless one from Belt Mountain, it is a little easier to pull and replace. I like it as much a my New Vaquero, though it has a different feel. The Ruger seems heavier and feels unburstable; the Uberti is a little more delicate-feeling. I'd hate to have to choose between them for fun shooting.

I was looking at the Ruger Vaquero also. Just do not know if I want to spend the extra money. I do like Rugers

I have a pair of Ruger Vaqueros I used in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. They are heavier but can take abuse. My Uberti is, like you said, more delicate. Taylor also makes a fine .45LC.

I have one, and I love it. Mine has the birds head grip. Unfortunately, I can't give a comparison since I don't have a Ruger. Yet.

Cimarron is an importer. Most of their revolvers are made by Uberti but they began carrying Pietta revolvers a few years back. Many of the imported revolvers are "clones" of the Colt SAA. A classic design with the real limitation that it is not safe to carry with a live round under the hammer. Some models have transfer bars or other passive safety features that make them as "drop safe" as a modern DA revolver. In other words, there are lots of choices even in Cimarron's offerings alone.

I have to admit, my Rugers were built for speed and handling. I never could acquire the hammer without rocking the pistol in my hand so I had Bisley hammers put on them. One handed they work great now.

I've had several but just have one now...Uberti/Cimarron .45 Colt. I like it...no problems.

I bought this one several years with the intention of having it converted to a short barrel snub. Have not been able to convince myself yet to do so. I do have the ejector rod and shroud. I just like it better without.

We had a few Cimmaron shooters when I worked the gun store, they were all happy campers. I really wanted their Doc Holiday rig with all the trimmings...

Shot it. Snug . Bit gritty....just needs cleaned . Decent trigger. puts 40g champions right under the sight at 10 yds. Prolly shorten it to 3 or 4 inches and make bloodwood grips . I'm happy. Glad I passed on the Ruger and ecstatic with the $275 nib price tag now to find leather....IMG_20180509_182611_hdr.jpg IMG_20180509_182632_hdr.jpg

I got an Uberti in .357 just like that. Uberti makes their models for Cimaron and Taylor & Co, so they are all the same gun - mostly.
For the leather I found an inexpensive rig on Amazon from Shotgun Lilly. It was about $77 including shipping instead of 3-500 dollars for some of the other rigs I found. For a "fun gun" and not an EDC I just couldn't see paying that much for a belt and holster although some of the leather crafters on the Forum might disagree with me.

I think all I need is $80 or so for a holster. I never tried cowboy action. Watched a match and walked away knowin that if I had to yell "I'm Black Bart and Ya ain't takin me alive" or other similar sillies that i'd break down and likely shoot my foot on accident from havin the uncontrollable giggles. Too dangerous for me. I'll just get a simple holster.

Decided to name this one Turtle Shit. A solder turd peaked out under the tail so I browned it and left it there . Damn turtles. Anyway some cleaning and final shaping to do in the site but the barrel is trimmed to 4 5\8" and crowned. action is next i think - cleaning mostly
