Alright folks, picked up a new rig this past year primarily for hunting.. but thinking of stretching her legs a bit. She’s a shooter as she is, but I’d like to see her a little more dolled up.

What I have is a Savage 10, Accutrigger, standard stock. Big box combo with a Bushnell scope, EGW Rail. Already have Vortex optics on the way, looking for different options for rails, people’s preference of 30mm rings, and a selection of stocks to choose from would be great, preferably something with DBM to do away with this blind magazine. Oh, and an effective muzzle brake.

Always been a 700 guy but couldn’t bite on that 1:12” twist this time, wanted the 1:10”, and Savage is 100% new territory for me.

Keep in mind, my budget is modest, and I don’t plan to compete with this rifle. Just something that’ll get me out there and on steel at a decent distance. It already shoots a ragged hole at 100, so I’ve got a good base to build on.

Best bang for the dollar is the Super Sniper 10x in moa or mil. The mil/mil is very nice. I only like the 10x, the other power ranges can have milky lens

My Savage went from a solid .8 MOA to a legit .3 or .4 MOA by swapping out the 'accutstock' for a chassis system from MDT (https://mdttac.com/us_en/) and Magpul PRS stock. I went with the HS3 chassis @ $500+AR butt stock of choice.. Though, If I were doing it again, I'd maybe go with the LSS-XL chassis.

I was banging steel easily at 1,000 with it and made my 1 Mile shot with it as well.

It was amazing the difference the stock swap made. @Average Joe owns that rifle now. I sold it only because it's a RH bolt and I want to shoot lefty. My $2,000 Tikka Tac A1 doesn't shoot as well as that Savage (though it is smoother in working the bolt).

Follow @Tim advise. The rifle I got from him is a real shooter. Been getting better than .5 MOA with factory Hornaday loads. Finally got all my reloading components in this week. Hope to tighten up on that group size with the load data I got from Tim.
