I'm currently looking into my first can. It will be for my 22s. I think I have decided one the warlock ii, a split between cost, reviews, and sound dampening. Currently saving $$....

With that said what's the best way to clean the baffles? How clean do they need to be? Any advice on cleaning in general? Thanks

1. I'd never recommend a Warlock as somebody's first can, mainly for the cleaning. Spend the extra and buy a Spectre. It's quieter, much easier to maintain, and not that much more money in the long run.
2. If you still opt for the Warlock, you'll end up spending time cleaning the baffles with hand tools.
3. Knock the chunks out and be done. Dirty cans are quiet cans.

(This is coming from an owner of two Warlocks and three Spectres)

I also have a warlock and a specter, and would agree with Waylon that the specter is by far the better can. If you don end up with the warlock I usually wet tumble the baffles with airsoft bears and a diluted aluminum mag wheel cleaner solution, it works pretty good.

I too have a spectre II and love it. Its not that much more $ than the warlock and to me the move from aluminum was worth it. To clean my spectre i just knock the chunks off of it and rub it down with froglube paste ( this is all i use FL for now) wipe clean and add another coat of FL.

I'd look at the Griffin Armament Checkmate QD in that price range also. If you have multiple 22s to put it on. My 1st can is the Griffin Optimus, my current can in nfa wait jail is the Rugged Oculus. I've also considered the Q El Camino, CGS Hydra SS, and the Dead Air Mask HD. Went with the Oculus since in full length it's comparable to the top cans, and short length for shooting on rifles.
