22 months after sending in my packet _ I finally received my pistol. Rather impressed with this feild grade, especially this late in the process . May 43 Remington Rand frame, post war Colt slide

I would be very happy with that!

Nice gun Ed!

I’d love to have another M-1 but then I’d have another caliber to have to buy for.

That is a nice one!

I talked to a CMP employee last week that said they got an "as new" in box 1911. Cherry picking, nah.

Wonder what the definition of 'as new' is? Since the service grades were arsenal rebuilt before storage, wouldn't they all be 'as new'?

Remember how all the nay sayers were saying that the guns received will all be beat to hell.

Yep and I was pretty sure they'd be in good shape when I first heard about it. At the time I predicted they'd show up on GB at $1,500. Wonder if I was correct?

You were. And CMP took note and banned some people from ordering anything again over it.

Here are some I had in Afghanistan in 2014. These went back to Crane in 2017. The bottom center is hot (cocked and locked) as it was just out of my holster for the photo (my carry gun at the time)

What unit was still issued the 1911A1? Sent back to Crane implies SEALs?
