Anyone take collagen peptides? I currently take a super low dose gummy (few hundred mg) and don't know if I'm getting anything from it. I'm thinking of starting to mix in hydrolyzed collagen peptide powder (5-6 g) in with my creatine in the near future in hopes of seeing some muscle and joint benefits from it. Anyone take it regularly? For lifting? Benefits? Pros and cons? Thanks in advance.

My parents (~80yo) started taking it in fairly high doses, three times a day with food. They said it’s improved how their joints feel. The con being it’s hard on the stomach, hence take it with a meal.

20g of this in our daily protein shakes. Wife swears it helps her skin. I was more worried about my old joints in the gym, but feel about the same.

Youtube has plenty of vids on the subject...

I started BPC-157 injections this week. I have several friends that have been on it for some time now and all of them rave about the results.

I was going to start a thread but I'll post here. Might start one too. I have been taking the capsules for 5 days. I've felt a difference from a few hours after taking the first one. But I have trashed my right shoulder. So I probably have more problems than most so I might also see more results. The nagging/aching shoulder pain is almost completely gone. Neck pain as well. I have a ruptured and 2 bulging disks in my neck. Likely rotator cuff issues from repetitive work. And really messed up my shoulder blade area a couple years ago removing a ladder from a tree stand. Pulled me down to the ground and twisted and rotated my shoulder on the way down. Nothing I have done really helped until this. I'm hoping this really adds to the rehab/excercise I've been doing to try and fix it. So far it's great. It has gotten rid of so much of the pain I feel younger. Add to that Sat I spent about 5.5 hours doing tree work. Climbing in and out of the tree, cutting stuff over my head, then cutting and cleaning it up on the ground. Sunday I had zero soreness and felt better than I have in a long time. FWIW, I'm 50 as well.

Also, my wife has started taking it for her acid reflux and loves it. It's working great for her too.

This is what I'm taking. It's not cheap. But the BPC 157 is kind of cost dependent. The cheap stuff is fake. And the real stuff isn't cheap. I opted out of the shots because you have to bro science it a lot unless you get a dr or pharmacy to help. It needs to be diluted and dosed right. But if these capsules keep working I'll stick with it.

My dose was taken direct from my buddies prescription from an actual Dr. He is a little younger but very similar injuries and symptoms. The reconstitution is really very easy and by doing the shots I can target my effed up knees and shoulders by injecting near or straight into the joint.
I don't have the balls to stick a needle near my spine, I'll leave that to my pain management Doc.

They just had a 15% off sale & I've hurt my forearm tendons cleaning this property up. I'm starting another 10mg bottle. It made a noticeable difference in my pain levels the last time I used it.

There was some discussion here as well.

Not sure how, but I completely missed that.
Glad to hear another success story with it. A bunch of retire Army guys I work with absolutely swear by it.

When I broke my neck I started taking it daily with protein powder in the morning for breakfast and bone broth for lunch. I crushed/cracked C4,5,6 and 7. I was in a neck brace for just under 6 weeks...this was just two years ago also had a few fractures in my sternum (doc stopped counting after 4) fracture at the base of my skull and some nerve damage in my right arm. I was back working on heavy equipment after 90 days of temp disability.

The Vital Proteins is pretty good. Bulletproof is the one my wife likes. It’s better for her stomach issues.
Vital Proteins is the one my wife swears by. Mainly for hair health I believe.

Which brands do you find to be legit?

Also, what are you wanting it to do? Probably makes a difference in what you want to get.

Best thing (that i found) was excercise

Was marginally effective for me. And the pain limited what I could do. This BPC 157 seems to have gotten the pain and swelling out of the way. I’m looking forward to seeing what that does for my working out.

PT exercises? Was having Thoracic radiculopathy (so painful i couldn't sleep), pt, along with continued exercise, did the trick.

Similar story for my shoulder that was repaired

Similar but doing it on my own. I've tried stretching, bands, TRX straps, and currently dumbbells. It was better with regular exercise but never cleared up completely. I'm guessing I have a lot of scar tissue in the muscles and trying to break that up has been difficult. Tried massage and scraping for that with mixed results. You can feel knots around my scapula, lats, and upper bicep. And I'm pretty sure the muscles under my scapula have some. I have a frightening amount of popping in my right scapula when I manipulate it and I think that is from scarred muscle groups. So I'm guessing the BCP is helping with that inflammation and increasing blood flow to the injured area. But it's absolutely helping with the aches and pain. The popping seems to be less during the day as well.

I'm currently focusing hard on my right front delt. As soon as my shoulder relaxed it flared up and got really sore. Probably had some of those muscles in my shoulder over working and that front delt was under worked. Which probably made my shoulder even less stable.

To give you an idea of the pain under stress in my shoulder I have not been able to do a single real push up in several years. Not that I did many, but it's just too painful. At best I can get 2 sets of 5 if I'm on my knees. But even that was rare. It hurt some much during and after I quit even trying to do them.

That's what I got at the grocery store the other day. Taste like old milk when I add it to water so I am going throw a scoop of protein in to make it taste better. Hopefully it'll help my shoulder discomfort.
