Colonel Bulldog is a readily known name in the SF community. The man literally wrote the book on green berets. He was still highly involved with Robin Sage well into his eighties. I’m very proud I got to meet and work with him over the last 6 years. He will be missed.

I’ll also never forget the time he clowned @muskrat for getting bitten by a caterpillar. Hahahaha.

He was a Korean War and Vietnam veteran. Tough dude

Yes he was. With pancreatic cancer and struggling to come into camp with a cane he was one of those men you just didn’t want to mess with.

In my youth, he was a mentor to me.
RIP
I found that pic on the internet last night. Was amazing he still found the strength to get up In those woods to see the students. I met him once at Robon Sage. When he showed up everyone gathered around him and when he spoke everyone in camp gave him 100% attention.

Imagine me being 16 yrs old and he was dating Paula's mom at the time.
I did his yard work, and looked after his cows. It was an honor.
And he did show and tell me of his time in service.
997 jumps. He was soo pissed that they wouldn't let him get an even 1,000 before getting out.

Where did Col. Smith live? Outside of Jacksonville a piece? My dad used to take us to visit a Col. Smith when we were younger, maybe late 80s, early 90s when he was on active duty.

I believe he was living in the Archdale area.

Just got back from the visitation, that man had more man in his little toe
than most have in there whole body.
It was an honor to have known him.

I really wanted to go but after a day slogging through boot deep landfill mud (with it all over my pants and shirt too) and no time to change I didn’t think it appropriate.

A few of the guys from our sage group were able to make it and we all pitched in for a flower arrangement
