Just some fun reading material for your Saturday. I would love to put one of these together with a similar scope but even the cheek pieces are hard to find.

We really don't know how good we have it. This top of the line rifle is putting out 3 inch groups and that's satisfactory. I bet most of us have builds that will shoot better than that with better ammo and easier scope mounting options.

Sad, the author mentioned he sold his after CA went bonkers.

Purchased one brand new in 1988 or 89. I got around 2 MOA groups out of mine with iron sights. With a scope, it was in the 1.5 MOA range. It was a good rifle, but by far from the most accurate. Granted back then I didn’t reload and shot mostly mil surplus bulk ammo. I imagine if someone reloaded or used match grade ammo they could shrink the size of those groups. Had to sell it and a couple others to cover the cost of college. Hate that I don’t have those guns anymore, but without a doubt I wouldn’t have many of the ones I have now without the sacrifice.

I miss those days, even though I was only old enough to read about guns.
Reminds me of 750 dollar Colts in the gun case at Walmart........
