Folding when I should be shoveling.

After sporting three or four furniture variations, here's my Saiga rocking some Magpul, Circle 10, RS Regulate, and Burris wares.

This is likely how it will sit until I get off my butt and finally convert the front end. It's a great rifle as-is though ... as smooth as Russian butter.

EDIT: Well shoot ... forgot to put the Russian elk head sling back on before the photo shoot. So imagine that on there as well.
I want to convert the front end on mine as well, but I'm worried about getting everything lined up perfect.

Agreed. I'm slowly procuring parts but will most likely pay the premium to have an expert do the conversion. I just don't have the space for all the necessary tools, and honestly I don't think I have the talent either.

Got to do some shooting with a vz58 select fire yesterday.

Need to find the right belt to shoot the PRD. Keep finding PKM 7.62x54R belts. This one has seen some better days.

Every time look at my VZ, I want to change the original furniture out and put some new ones in but then I cannot. Nostalgia I suppose. Beaver barf furniture for life. Is that a CZ2008 production?

No, its a vz58 select fire belonging to the Slovak Republic. Got some of their SOF co-located with us here in Afghanistan.

How do you like that Magpul stock?

I've not gotten to handle one but I am intrigued .

The Zhukov-S? I have one on a Saiga and one on a Yugo. I like 'em. They were super easy to install. Magpul has nice clip-on Zhukov cheek riser options (using a 0.5-inch riser on both, because I have optics on both). The stocks seem durable enough, though I've heard of a few folks who have run into locking issues. I don't intend to throw mine out of a tree or run over them with a truck, so time will tell.

Thanks. I may stick with my Kvar for now, maybe the next AK.

Yeah it's tough to beat the simplicity of a fixed stock. I did manage to grab my first Zhukov from the classified - great condition and price. Happy to keep an eye out for you if I stumble across another one for cheap.
