Commie Rifle Pics Thread

Here's another one of the M90NP. Added a Damage Industries brake and Khyber Customs cheese grater. Took it out last weekend - a bit finicky at first, but after dialing in the proper gas port setting it ran without fail.

A
1975 Russian and 1980 Romanian AKMs. Deadlined both last week due to excessive headspace.

Awesome looking 75, need to cut it up and send it to me!

Yeah it's tough to beat the simplicity of a fixed stock. I did manage to grab my first Zhukov from the classified - great condition and price. Happy to keep an eye out for you if I stumble across another one for cheap.

No worries, I've barely gotten to shoot the ak lately

It's one of the JRA's it's about the only way you're going to get a m72AB1 right now. There weren't many kits that were imported before (actually weren't that many made compared to the fixed stocks) only ones recently that I've seen are the ones that came in with the kits Classic brought in to have JRA build. They have a few for sale right now, if you want one I'd move on it quick, they've sold out twice before. I've seen just the bipod and FSB sell for close to what Classic is selling the JRA built gun for, so you're not going to get hurt on it unless someone brings in a big batch of kits, which is possible, just not likely. Apex and the other importers have been looking for the m72ab1 rifles for a couple years now and they've hardly found any.

@myst173 Thanks for the info. How is the fit and finish on yours? The JRA M72s have been relatively hit or miss in terms of quality control, from what I've read. Have you been able to shoot it yet? I'd love to read a range report.

Really the only complaint I have is the folding stock is a bit wobbly, I'll end up taking it apart and replacing the pins, finish on the rifle is good and the overall build looks nice. I ran about 1/2 a mag through it just to function check it when I got it with no issues, haven't had a chance to do anything more than that.

Comparing m70ab2s? I have a spare m72ab1 I may part with. If into it message me I will need to go into more detail.

This is my nasty old Commie Girlfriend. Old WASR, slightly canted front site, scuffs, bruises, and looks at me with attitude.

I recently changed out its original handguard and the folding Tapco stock with more the more appropriate looking attire seen below.

I’ll be honest, I’m an AR guy at heart. I kinda wanted to not like the AK and sell it off. After all, I bought it from a relative a few years back when they needed cash more than the rifle. But this darn thing works. It’s accurate as I am, even with the slightly canted site. It never fails to fire, and there is something oddly endearing about a rifle that can be fixed with a rock, hammer, and anger.

Anyone know if the dragunov scopes work on the standard ak scope mount? If so I may put this on my romy just to take a pic.

My understanding is that they do, however the reticle is designed for 7.62x54r not x39. There are some that have reticles for the x39 but they are harder to find.

I run a POSP on my AES-10B. It's a big honker, but I had no issues mounting it on the rail and it works really well. I can't tell from the pic you uploaded, but does your scope have an SVD mount or an AK/universal mount?

My LPS scope from my PSL mounted on my WASR just fine. FWIW.

Had 8 various select fire AKs brought to me the other night. Couple triggers not working, headspace issues, etc. Gaged and inspected them, got 7 up and running. One the right is a Russian AKMS that is deadlined do to headspace and swipped trigger group. Next two Polish AKS (notice the selector position), a single Romanian AKM and on left 4 Yugoslavian of 2 ea M82b and 2 ea M70A1's.

Whats the back story on those?

Nevermind; I see your signature.

Reference the green hue, if you're referring to the image and its on the outside of the image then it is a common occurrence on lower quality lens.

I am no expert here so keep that in mind. Looking thru the s ccv ope the image has a greenish hue.

I changed out the batteries but the reticle does not illuminate. I need to replace the bulb to see if that is the issue.

Nice looking akms, if you end up cutting it up, I could make a new home for the back half.

These you don't see that often. Soviet AGS-17 30mm automatic grenade launchers. Built in the late 60s-70 to counter our Mk19 Mod 0's that we used in VietNam. These belong to the Czech Republic Army.
Cartridge: 30x29mm
Caliber: 30mm
Rate of fire: 400 rpm
Range: 800-1700m
Feed: 29 round belt

Careful with the arm that holds the gas adjustment puck. The rivets are easier to sheer out than one would think.

What he said. Use your fingernail to lift it if you need to adjust the setting, but don't wedge a screwdriver underneath it or try to pry it up too far. Mine is at "2" and runs 55 and 62 grain, steel and brass all consistently.

Nice get, by the way. They're fun guns. I think the caliber suits the AK well, and PMAGs are a helluva lot cheaper and more common than ((10)) 5.56 mags.

1986 Romanian parts kit build on a nodak spud reciever that I just recently bought and Zastava N-PAP (blk) that I got earlier this year. Looking to finish up the yugo with a better bottom handguard that allows for a vfg and change the romanian pistol grip to a nicer wood piece then I'm finished for now.
