Time to start putting goals to paper. What's your goals and how are you going to accomplish them?

Step 1. Get new jersey
Step 2. Load some dang ammo
Step 3. Actually practice
Step 4. Repeat, repeat, repeat, etc...
Step 5. Profit!

oops - I meant shoot the match and attempt to finish... not last.

goals need to be specific and accomplishable, right?

1. Make it through an entire match without dropping a shotgun shell. My current definition of "Quad" is load 2, drop 2.
2. Get obsessive about knowing my DOPE.

1) Shoot 75% at SC State
2) A class by July
3) Shoot 80% at NC, Georgia and Tenn
4) Shoot above 80% at local matches

The how - 100% focus on Limited class. No "playing" in other divisions
Continue my dryfire routine.
Add a more consistent live fire practice schedule. (local matches are no longer to be used instead of practice)

I'll be honest, I don't really have any goals except to have fun. I'll probably be stuck in B class for the rest of my life. I would definitely like to get better and will probably do some half assed practice like always. I do have a membership at Rowan so maybe I need to come Practice with you and Dan!

Having fun is a goal as far as I'm concerned.
Your welcomed to join us as long as your ok with 2 juniors beating your times on drills. Cause it does happen, they are getting good.

That is honestly a huge part of the fun. Watching the kids getting so much better truly warms my heart.

Those 2 shooting together has helped them both. They won't admit it but you can see them pushing each other.

Goal-get to B class by the summer and A or dang close by this time 2017

How-actually be persistent in dry fire during the week.
Live fire will be better structured

All the missing pieces are here and its up to me to make it happen

Shoot at least a dozen matches, have fun, continue to get a little better each match.
Competition is training for me. Like FatboyFlash I'm likely to be a lifetime USPSA B shooter but there are worse things to be : )

Age is catching up with me. In 2016, I went through about 7 months of daily sciatic nerve pain and then one day, poof! It just went away. That greatly hindered my match performance and practice schedule.

So, in 2017 I want to consistently shoot matches at my classification level. In order to do that, I've got to get off my posterior and get back into dry-fire and live-fire practice.

So... ahh.... Your favorite local podcaster has been gathering up voicemails for the end of the year podcast about 2017 competitive shooting goal. If y'all wouldn't mind doing me a solid and sending me a voicemail with your goal, and what you're going to do to achieve it, I'd appreciate it!

Get classified in production, should've happened this year, but rain killed my last chance. Looks like C, so goal is make B. How: quit getting sloppy on easy shots in classifiers. for starters. Actual match performance, first make plans stick and recover better when they can't, then work entries and exits, next RUN. That's all I got.

Thank you sir!

My wish is to get matches happening at CR-PC again but I don't see that happening until 2018
My goal is to attend at least two pistol matches each month. And qualify IDPA expert by end of year.

Happy to do it. I listen to the podcast every week.

I don't necessarily have any specific goals per say, but 2017 will be different for me as a whole. I have committed to USPSA as my primary focus with Steel Challenge to be used as a solid second. IDPA has lost my interest, so much that I don't even enjoy running the IDPA indoor match that I have ran for close to two years.

Wow that's a huge statement coming from you. You've been one of the biggest supporter of Idpa that I knew.

My goal is to actually make it to AT LEAST one match per month this year... Beyond that, I'd like to give 3-gun a real go, but that's likely a pipe dream until at least 2018...

It wasn't easy to accept Brian. I am grateful for the time that I invested in IDPA. The game has taught me so many things, including that no matter how bad you are, if you work at something you can and will improve. IDPA and my overall passion for the game gave me a reason to shoot, a reason to practice, and a reason to take shooting seriously. I attribute my ability to shoot pistols accurately to time I spent shooting and practicing for IDPA. That is a skill that I am extremely proud of and hope to always retain. However, the unenviable time has arrived and it's time to move on to something that will push me to improve. My IDPA membership as well as my Safety Officer certification will expire in the Spring of 2017. Not saying that I will never shoot another match that uses the IDPA format, it just isn't my preference anymore. Look forward to joining you in Limited major in 2017!

Nice. Awesome statement.

My main goal is A class in Limited very soon into the new year. 5 points out. And to be a serious threat in the A class at Area 6 2017.

Then onto NC state with at least a top 3 in Limited A.

so a very consistent dry fire practice at least 5 times a week for a minimum of 30 mins. Get as many live fire practices in as I can.

I ended 2016 making B class in production which I am proud of being that I rarely get to practice or shoot matches.

Goal this year is to PRACTICE and hopefully show up at the 2 major matches I like to attend instead of blowing it.

Maybe make A class by 2018.

Either way I have a ton of fun so I guess it isn't that big a deal. I do have a competitive side and don't like losing though.

1 - Make high B in Production (won't complain if I cross to A though ;)).
2 - Ball up and shoot at the NC Section
3 - Go back to Ramseur and get that Appleseed Rifleman patch
4 - Shoot at least 1 match with my AR
5 - Shoot at least 2 IDPA bug matches
