Compton 'ambush' leaves 2 LA County sheriff's deputies 'fighting for their lives'

One of the sheriff’s deputies ambushed Saturday night by a brazen gunman previously worked as a librarian before she applied to join the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department three years ago, according to a report.

Apolinar was struck multiple times in her face and torso but tended to her partner, who was also wounded after they were able to climb out of the police car.

“It’s an extreme situation. She was shot in the face, shot in the upper torso several times,” LASD Lt. Brandon Dean told the Mail. “To have the wherewithal to get yourself out of the vehicle and the line of fire in case it continues, but then to take care of your partner, initiate radio traffic make sure the civilians in the area are safe, it shows a lot about her courage and intestinal fortitude."

It's not just a problem in Compton, it's coming to a city near you soon. Already had a repeat of it in Spartanburg over the weekend.

I know it's not gonna be popular to say this, but there's not too much difference between what these people are doing than the guys just sitting around waiting for any excuse to bust out the yeet cannon on the alphabet bois.. This from both sides is what happens when society breaks down. Human society brings us out of the age of violence and it breaking down always ushers the age of violence back in. Grab a real history book and open it to a random page, you wont have to read very far before you run into an example of this.

We've reached a point where it's become mandatory for you to be responsible for your own safety and not rely on any organization or human decency for it, because both of them are failing right now.

Acknowledge this and plan accordingly.

TV/Cable?
Okay boomer.
How about instead of getting weather alerts popping up on my phone, my home alarm, and my tv all at once (or amber alerts, or emergency alerts)... my phone suddenly starts beeping and displays "John Smith, a convicted child molester, and Joe Blow, a murderer, have both been executed by hanging at 12:00 p.m. today. The following video is of their final moments..."

Perhaps it would be better to send out the alert before the demaggotification event so all could see it as it happens. They could even auction off the right to push the button to raise a little money to defray costs. I wonder if offering for sale hats and Tee shirts would help people remember the wages of sin a little longer. The person with that concession could sell special edition collections of all the hats and shirts from the previous year, month, or week.

How dare you? Hare DARE you, Sir? He is a veteran, with a Bronze Star....he's...he's an effing ****, is what he is. ***ing veteran with ****ing bronze star he was a ****ing lawyer/JAG get the **** out outta here with that ****....

I do not like Cunningham
Yep. he was “attached to ... no combat Valor ... just courtroom “action” mostly against contractors who were accused of crimes in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I doubt he ever pulled any real duty outside the wall. His worst hazard was likely a paper cut ...

His service ribbons were ...
Bronze Star Medal no”V” ...
Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters
Army Commendation Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters
Joint Service Achievement Medal
Army Achievement Medal
Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters
National Defense Service Medal with One Star
Afghanistan Campaign Medal with One Campaign Star
Iraq Campaign Medal with Two Campaign Stars
Global War On Terrorism Service Medal
Armed Forces Reserve Medal with ‘M’ Device, Third Award
Army Service Ribbon
Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Second Award
Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon
NATO Afghanistan Service Medal
Parachutist Badge
General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award

For whatever reason, the threshold in the Army for officers to get a bronze star is stupifyingly low. It utterly demeans the nature of the award for a JAG who has never left the wire to get it. We had Marines/sailors get put in for one with a "V" and get it knocked down to a Navy Comm with a "V".

But he knowingly cons the public in his ads like it actually means something; some of his ads have the SF beret crest as well.

^^
National Defense Service Medal with One Star
How does he have a repeat star on the NDSM?

Cunningham commissioned in 2002 with no prior service.

The NDSM award periods cover:

Korean War June 27, 1950 July 27, 1954
Vietnam War January 1, 1961 August 14, 1974
Gulf War August 2, 1990 November 30, 1995
Global War on Terrorism September 11, 2001 Present

He could not have earned one for the Gulf War, so I am wondering how he has a repeat star? For example, my father had a repeat star (USAF) for Korea and Vietnam, earned as separate actions: he didn't have x4 for separate deployments.

Our form of government is failing, not because it wasn't a good form of government (it has worked well for over 200 years) but because we have sat back and allowed the government grow and encroach upon our rights. We voted in statists, of both the left and right varieties, and allowed them to slowly erode our republic into a democracy (and democracies have historically always ended in bloodshed).

A republic, governed by the rule of law, is dependent on it's citizens, by and large, obeying the law. I forget where I read the research but the numbers are something like 97% of the population must voluntarily decide to obey the law for it to work. Otherwise the police are overwhelmed, the courts are overwhelmed and the prison system is overwhelmed.

The media, and social media, has glorified gangsters and the thug life. We have applauded celebrities and our politicians who flaunt the laws and allowed our children to worship them.

So at this point we have a guestimated 45% of the population who believe that the laws don't apply so long as you have a grievance I'd guess that at least half of those are violent to boot. The courts are ignoring flagrant violations of felony law breakers or throwing them out of court if they do get arrested.

There is no coming back from where we are today.

Not just the beret ... photos show him in a Humvee ... then troops (no faces shown) boarding air transport ... him in “battle gear” but no weapon shown ... and other “cherry picked” photos. The campaign spin doctors the Dummicrats ave paid to make an “American Hero” out of this ambulance chaser should be sent over to one of the “Stan’s” to see what real soldiers are exposed to beside an air conditioned office and courtroom behind guarded walls.

I was thinking about these very things as I was reading down this thread today...

Rule of law only works if we agree to it. at some point.

But, to what actual percentage of America is this really happening? Sure, there is a concentration in the big cities, but are they the bulk of America? We see it on the news and it looks bad, but if we look around us, is it really happening? How many of us, on both sides are really just peaceable and just want to get on with life? I don't know the answer or if anyone has done the analysis. Are we really approaching a tipping point or are we just being told we are?

Is his service similar to Mayor Pete who was a driver?

The United States was born of fire and iron, and its rise was one of struggle, conflict, accomplishment and glory. While I wish its decline would be more along the lines of the slow burn that toppled the Roman Empire, I fear it will end more like Cambodia and the rise of the Khmer Rouge. The barbarians at the gates we all grew up being wary of, the communist, socialist, and islamist didn't lay siege to the gates. They slipped in through decades of quiet complacency and changed the moral compass that once acted as the coal that fueled the engine that was America. And when I say "moral compass", take care that I do not merely mean the "Protestant Work Ethic" version, but a universally held code of behavior that for centuries has been the keys to success. Hard work, self reliance, rugged individualism, and personal responsibility. We have a new generation (or two) who have replaced hard work with entitlement, self reliance with total dependence, rugged individualism with collectivism, and personal responsibility with victimhood.

If you fail, it wasn't your fault.
If you don't win, its because the game was stacked against you.
If you aren't wealthy its because someone stole it from you.
If you don't get your way, then you should scream louder.
If they ignore your screams, burn down their homes so you can at least live together in the ashes.

Many people are looking forward to the election being over. I am not. I personally see no relief coming from the election. If Trump wins, the left will quadruple their rebellion. The cities will burn with a renewed fire we havent seen the likes of yet. War has been declared on law enforcement, and all those who even remotely support their efforts. Even now DA's are reluctant to prosecute, judges lenient on punishment due to "sensitivity".

If Trump loses? It is time for revenge. The left has said, countless times that they are remembering all who they consider "complicit" with the alleged evils they feel the Trump "Regime" has committed. (Though they can name none). If he loses, then you can no longer be conservative. You can no longer be the party of "That Evil Man!" If you label yourself so, then coming out against you will not be seen as aggression, but as justice. Your businesses will be burned, figuratively in the sense that the "woke" social media world will burn your global/local presence to the ground...or literally, in that they will not see if as a crime.

Good has become evil. Mischief has become progress. Tantrum has become discourse.

My friends, in this new world that is coming, we are the bad guys. We are the villians.

So to that I say..."Shiny, lets be bad guys."

My military career was rather short and uneventful. I did train for Viet Nam but was not needed when I was available. I have been around lots of military men and women and have great respect for most of them. I do not, however, feel that service in the military automatically qualifies a person to be a good and respectable elected official. That is especially true if they pad their service activities to make themselves seem to be something they were not.

"At the time of his arrest, Murray, who has suspected gang ties, was charged with one felony count each of carjacking, second-degree robbery, and assault with a semiautomatic firearm - personal use of a firearm. The charges also included allegations of association with a criminal street gang, discharging a rifle inflicting great bodily injury, and personal use of an AR-15."

Someone explain this to me.

It's California, he's supposed to share. Cuts down on emissions.

Can you see a ghost gun?

Do you think they're real? I've never seen one, you?

Shooting a woman in the face is some cold hearted heartless junk:eek:. That's just beyond wrong.
