They’re probably able to buy them easier than we can.

This is great news for the industry as it opens up the market, allowing US mfg’s to grow sales and invest more in R&D as a result.

THIS. Plus more sales of product that has been r&d’d equals spreading said r&d cost for said product across more product. So CHEAPER!!!

1 mil in development spread over 10k Items of product makes one price. 1mil in development cost spread over 1 mil items made (dreaming I know) is great for all involved.

In 2002, during the administration of President George W. Bush, the U.S. State Department dropped the hammer on commercial suppressor exports, which barred potentially lucrative overseas markets to American can makers. Now, after years of lobbying by pro-gun industry groups, the door is now open.

That doesn't make sense, what was Dubya's reasoning? Were foreign enemies being their hands on them?

The thought was they could be used against US troops and citizens abroad.

In some other countries silencers/suppressors are not even regulated. The guns themselves are so heavily regulated and licensed, the suppressors are just seen as an accessory.
