Connecticut Precision Chambering (CPC) for 10/22?

Well I went ahead and sent them the barreled action from my 10/22. They should get it Monday and have it turned around in about 2 weeks.
I'm excited to see the difference! Now I just have to figure out what scope to put on it if my eyes don't hold up! ;)

Let me know when you're ready to get a scope, I will do my best to save you some money.

Well I got the barreled action back yesterday and got to the range today. Well the indoor 25 yard range at least.

All I can say is "wow!", it is a night and day difference. Trigger is crisp and repeatably consistent. Pull is just under 2lbs. Everyone that tried it tonight, really liked it too. The bolt action is smooth. I didn't realize how bad it was before until I shot it tonight! The little things make a big difference too as I thoroughly enjoy the auto bolt release and like the new barrel crown. I opted not to do the jeweling on the bolt, just not my style.

I haven't broken it down for cleaning yet, but everything looks good as well. At least as good as it can look on a 36 year old 10/22. The only thing I don't really care for is his "extended magazine release". It works fine, but it is kind of fugly. Maybe time to get a KIDD extended release. ;)

I only had time to put about 50 rounds through it, but it was a joy to shoot. I will get the irons sighted in better and then get some more quality time with it! So far though, I would say it is money well spent and a bargain too!

He has a detailed description of the work done on his site. Just click the Ruger 10/22 link on the left side. I did the full tune-up, minus the bolt jeweling.
Aren't small groups always the goal? The best accuracy and consistency out of a stock 10/22 was my goal. Randy has a good reputation for providing just that.

I think it is like all others, experiment with different ammunition and see what shoots best. I'll start doing some experimentation once I get some sort of shooting rest to eliminate shooter error, lol. ;)

10/22 are such great little guns that can be improved a lot by a good gunsmith. Often times they can be more improved doing that than throwing new parts at it.

Randy does great work with a 10/22. he went full-tilt on mine many years ago and it's still shooting well.

EDIT - I had the full package done on mine: trigger work, bolt work and receiver/barrel threading
