.......with my 86 year old Dad who currently drives a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V:

Dad:

"Dave, if you don't mind, hop on the computer and see if you can find me a left over 2018 CTS-V sitting at a dealer somewhere. It's got 640 hp and is still a pushrod V-8. I'm not going to buy that 2019 quad OHC V-6 GM is putting out in the new CTS-V."

Me:

"Sure Dad. I'm sure I can find one. Not sure if I can find one with the color and interior you are looking for, but I'll see what I can find. 550 hp not enough for you now?"

Dad:

"Well, it's running great and everything, especially since you had the original supercharger replaced, but I'm wanting to take it up a notch or two, especially since GM is going to put that God awful quad cam V-6 in the 2019 model."

He's 86 years old and is probably one of only just a few Cadillac CTS-V owners in the country that removed all of the badges and giveaways, other than the big fat tires, to make his Caddy look like a sleeper.

Lol!

That's awesome. Unfortunately, I don't think he's the only one having that same notion.

I kept the badges, but blacked mine out except for the flag part. Got to get up on it to notice and usually by then it's too late.

What color is he wanting? I know of 2, a red and a white one out here. Got a buddy that owns the caddie dealership out here and may be able to find some that aren't "for sale" per se.

Silver 4 door. Silver is the only color he'll go with. I guess that's where I got my taste in vehicle colors. Silver is my favorite as well. Lol. Interior can be black, gray, or tan. Let me know if you come across anything. Thank you sir. Sweet CTS-V btw.:)

If you want me to mule that back there I'll be glad to make the road trip. Lol

It's probably time for a remake of that movie.

I think he may be mixed up on the CTS-V ... the 2019 CTS-V is still a V8. Now the CTS in the V-Sport trim level is a V6 though but the real CTS-V monster still has the 640 hp V8.

You're correct. However, I did come across something last night that made me think what my Dad was thinking. Somewhere I saw an article or news piece about the 2019 CTS-V having a supercharged V-6 with the same HP as the 6.2L. Can't recall where I saw it but I think that's what he saw as well. Could have been a car magazine article but I came across it online.

I just figured it out. He saw news of the 2019 CT6 V which used to be called the CTS V-Sport and it had a twin turbocharged V-6. He's probably thinking that the CT6 V coming out in 2019 is also a V-6 but it's not. It's a twin turbo 4.2L V-8 with 550hp. There is going to be a 2019 CTS-V with the supercharged 6.2L. But according to what I've read, that will be the last year of the CTS-V.

Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Yep, 2020 supposedly will have the slightly smaller CT5 family replacing the CTS line. But bright spot there is rumors of later in ‘20 all wheel drive w/ that 4.2L V8 and possibly a coupe version ... Cadzilla II might be seven rumbling around?

Dave don’t go talking the man out of trading cars for more HP ! They are sweet rides

That is funny. Sharp dude. We talked my mother into giving up her license when she was 80 because she was no longer physically capable of driving safely.
As far as colors I'm not that particular unless it is a God awful color.

Hey Dave, just an fyi... I don't even think the traction control will help today. Lol

(The jeep and truck have 35" tires just for perspective)

I would love to have a wagon period. A 6 speed wagon is super hard to find.
This guy lucks up all the time into cars and bikes.
Just dont bring it up around his wife, she gets a little irritated at their 20 cars and 10 motorcycles (or something crazy like that)

This whole thread and the blacked out car pics makes me think about the awesomeness of the buick gnx. Nothing wrong with a six cylinder if it's done right.

There is simply nothing like waking up 640 of those Clydesdales at once while they are sleeping in a stealth package that no one expects that to come from. lol
