What are my options? I’ve got a gen 4 G17 with a great trigger (for a Glock ;)).

Is it even cost effective to swap slides for this? Whose slide would you recommend, and from which vendor. Also, should I go stripped or complete? I’m thinking stripped. I’ve got a good barrel, and Apex extractor which is not cheap. Current slide is fine, too. I suppose I could have it machined. I don’t care about having a stock slide any longer for this gun if I mount an RMR.

The purpose of this gun would be to run Carry Optics division in IDPA.

Imo @ncengravers does awesome work, he can cut it and cerakote it for however you like. Here’s mine he did a while back. Although I used an aftermarket slide it would work the same with a factory slide.

edited to add- I think it was around $50 for the cut and $50 for the cerakote. Don’t quote me on the price it may have went up or down since.

I otherwise like this G17, but it is just taking up space. I’d like to put it to use.

Got one a couple months ago, gen 3, great slide. Tool required is something like a wooden dowel to press the liner to full depth, they're not especially tight fitting. RMR, SRO, and Holosun compatible.

ETA: Actually not sure on SRO.
