Well thanks Mom. I just can't recall were you live since I moved out!!! Maybe next time.

OK Guys,

I don't do a "grilling", "what's for dinner", "what's for breakfast" kinda threads.

I just do a Cooking with wolfie thread. :)
It's anything and everything I cook - be that grill or inside...

So this evening, I needed to fix up some stuff for lunch next week.

On the menu is NY Strip Steak, sockeye salmon filets, and Argentine shrimp.

NY Strip is cut in half for 2 meals.
Pan seared in a hot cast iron grill pan with butter & Baby Bella Mushrooms.

Then I pan seared/cooked the salmon filets & mushrooms.
Added some Jasmine rice and garlic peas to the meals...

And, in containers for next week.

I still have to make the shrimp (Spicy Garlic Shrimp)....
More in a bit when I get around to fixing it this evening...

Those are some fine looking lunches.

I would be worried about my lunches getting gone at work. Those look wonderful.

If you ever get the need or want to feed an extra belly. I volunteer

yea, sometimes, I eat breakfast so early, 5-5:30am, my lunches become 2nd breakfast by 10am...remember Lord of The Rings and Hobbits 1st & 2nd breakfasts?? :)

OK, Spicy Thai Shrimp over Jasmin rice and sautéed broccoli with garlic and then a soy sauce/chicken broth/corn starch mix to thicken up....

If I mail you the makins, will you ship back the finished products?

Uhmmm. I guess I could do that - just make sure all is in a box with ice to keep it all cold.

I've bought from Home Chef before and it comes in an insulated box with ice blocks and is fine if it's delivered before I get home...

My luck, the mail man would eat it for lunch

Please, what ever you do, do not tease us with a shrimp n grits dish.

I fall all over myself when shrimp n grits are in the same room with me.

Shrimp & grits?
yea I can make that one too.

Its just a lot for one person to eat.
Heck all this food I just fixed is a lot for one to eat.
Will be tired of it all by Thursday

Wolfie... you have a gift. You should make the shrimp and grits and host a gathering. We would pony up enough each, I'm sure, to make it worth your while with cash to spare. Probably enough for a couple of boxes of ammo. At least enough for a tank of gas for the Ducati. Have a blessed day.

Happy Birthday! It looks like the day is off to a good start.

Thanks guys.
Just another day really, except I guess it's a birthday too. :)

Only thing that would have made it better was if someone else had done the cooking.
I get tired of cooking all the time.
but, /shrug/

The food looks OK, the HK is just purty! Just ordered a holster for mine.

Happy Birthday.

Thanks.

The HK is my favorite one.
My EDC for a while, then went to the xds45, now I think I'm going back to the HK...

Does yours have the world's most safe, safety device like mine? The awe-inspiring 28lb DA pull? I have been dry firing with snap caps and can feel it getting much better, but when I first got it, it was hillarious. But very safe! I can now dry fire without knocking a coin off the barrell with 5 shot strings so now it isn't too bad.

So, supper was a NY Strip steak, sautéed spinach with caramelized onions & baby bella mushrooms, and a baked potato.

Saved half of the steak for breakfast or a meal Sunday and some of the spinach.

Cooked the onions for about 25min with some minced garlic (short cut from a jar, yea, I know, but I just didn't feel like doing fresh)
Added some Balsamic vinegar to deglaze, then the mushrooms.
Spinach last, covered till wilted.

Could have been a little more rare, but it was still quite juicy.

And, these 2, waiting patiently for a crumb of steak. :D

My wife does the steaks that way too, sears them on the cooktop then finishes them in the oven. I gave up grilling steaks long ago, hers always come out better.

I just didn't feel like getting the grill ready & cooking outside this evening - charcoal.
The steaks turn out pretty good done this way.

I set the oven to 400F and put my cast iron griddle pan in to heat up.
Once it's heated, take it out, add a little olive oil and butter and put on a hot stove burner.
Sear both sides then back into oven.

This one was cooked just a tad too long, but it was still very good. :)

Happy Birthday wolfie and I hope you've enjoyed your day.

Would the black and tan happen to be a Rat Terrier?

Shelton, I don't think she's offering the dog up for supper.

Haha...No, she's actually brown & tan and a Miniature Pinscher and gonna be 7yr in March.

The other one, is a mix of corgi/pom/something and I got her last September...Lilly, she's probably around 10-12yr old.

Thanks.......If I had looked a little closer, I could have seen the Pinscher features. I looked at those ears, the face, and those focused eyes and thought she looked like a Rat Terrier. .

(If I leave it up to Geezer he'll convince people that I feast on filet of Chihuahua or sirloin of Shepherd.

Since we've managed to derail the food thread to a dog thread, I tried to adopt/rescue a Min Pin a couple of years ago. They made it entirely too hard and I just gave up. I could have adopted a child easier.

I won't have anything to show until the weekend most likely, as that's when I do most of my cooking, but I can post up the chicken pot pie I made this past Saturday...

We'll get back to cooking. :)

I adopted another Min Pin a couple years ago and it was Way to easy.
I ended up taking him back because of a lot of issues he had that were undisclosed.

Min Pins are something else...
Taylor is always full of energy! :)

This. Last pet we got from the SPCA in Raleigh, they put wife thru the wringer. Asked about where we live, what pets we had, pulled up our tax records. Wife got pissed, said "Look dip shit, I am a veterinarian and can take better care than yall ever will. Give me the cat!"

She is not much of a people person, lol

They wanted to contact our vet to see how well we care for our current dog. I was OK with that. When they wanted detailed photos of the outside and inside of every room in the house, I balked. That's OK, they said, we can send someone over to look around. I said No, you won't, and you just cost that dog a life of love and luxury by being so intrusive.
