Cooper gonna shut it down

OK- So now figure a way to keep those GD damn infected New yorkers at home and away from North Carolina. I say close the interstates at the borders to all traffic but trucking and NORTH CAROLINA commercial buisness. Put the county law dogs out to baracade the bridges on county roads and shut all cities.

We are a shut-in family with or without the order. Doesn't matter to me.
We've been doing the same thing. Only been to the grocery store a couple of times, a very limited few other places, and been very aware of my hands afterwards and wiped them with a Clorox wipe and washed when I got home.

After today, I am work for home for the next three weeks. I might have to come in for a construction meeting, but that's about it. I really DON'T want this germ.

I bet if you change that from New Yorkers to Yankees in general, you could find a lot of volunteers to man those checkpoints!:D

glove it up at the grocery store homie. Not only the cart but all the fondled products. If you concerned about contracting anyway.

For me, As not worried as I am if I get (or already had?) the virus, at this point if (for whatever reason) I were to get tested and the result positive, I would be another community case to drive the lunacy even further.

Plenty of pick ups around here to turn into technicals.

I’ve already specd out plans for mounting AR on the top of Jeep roll bar :)

not for nothing though, but with nearly everyone out of work or working remote, why would anyone be traveling 500+ miles to NC of all places at this point. It’s not like we having sporting events, concerts or anything like that?the snowbirds are Florida bound. NC nondescript enough that I don’t expect many to be here at this point.

Weddings are big right now too. Had people from New York City and Bethlehem,PA this week. Like WTF

I get the order, I really do. I am honestly perplexed and what the expected outcome is going to be. Most of the cities already have a shelter in place, so the high risk and high population areas already have those policies. So this will apply to the handful of other cities, and to counties where a low population density puts it at less risk? Yeah, doesn't make much sense.

Besides, with all the things that remain open it really doesn't change the risk profile anyway.

Yep, carry wipes in your vehicle and use them before you touch anything. When you can disinfect your keys, phone, etc ... before you’ve washed your hands.

Also wipes at home really don’t do that great of a job ... spraying with the alcohol or bleach solution and let sit for 2-3 minutes before wiping it down allows the disinfectant the kill the virus not just smear it and wipe it around.

I really like how these tools getting up to the podium during the press conference all grab and adjust the mic, then putting their hands on the exact same spots on the podium. They all gonna get the corona-coots!

Is there any official text out yet? Trying to determine what it means for our business, although I don't think we will be working for 30 days

edit: nevermind, found it and reading through it now.

well it could get interesting as I work for a contractor for the DOD in VA and they say I am essential personnel. are they going to stop traffic at the border or is it just a powerless proclamation

Executive Order 121 - Stay-at-Home Order - Page 3, Section 1., 3., iii
For outdoor activity. To engage in outdoor activity, provided individuals comply with Social Distancing Requirements and Mass Gatherings, as defined below, such as, by way of example and without limitation, walking, hiking, running, golfing, or biking.
Yes, that does say I can go to the outdoor shooting range as long as I don't huddle up with others.

Okay so he’s doing it ...

If it’s so important why’s he waiting for it to go into effect on Monday. That means 2 1/2 days of panic buying and such?

He *says* it to give folks time to get their businesses shut down and their sh*t together.

Alright, so after reading it I really don't understand what business besides maybe a call center will be affected. We are in furniture manufacturing, and as long as we can keep 6 feet between employees it looks like we can keep running.

same here except for work which I have no choice BUT to go to. I got a letter today saying our County was no longer allowing us to take time off until the declaration is rescinded by Cooper

I thought the same when Meck issued theirs, then cabarrus, where I am, followed suit a few days later.
I think the laundry list of exceptions has lessened the perceived need to panic-buy. Every single person can find an exception on that list that they can use to get out of the house and do what they want/need to.

No County roads in NC. Either state, private, or town/municipal.

Sorry to be a wisenheimer. No one to do it to at work, so I need to vent it somewhere!

Thanks for the Link. See the following....

Item 3 . ii on page 3. Outdoor recreation according to the prescribed social distancing guidelines. Walking back and forth between wooden frames and exercising ones fingers, arms and hands is permitted. I have a farm that I will be checking on and continue my form of stress relief and recreation.

Item 30 on page 8. ABC stores and other beer and wine sales operations are considered essential. Therefore all the miscreant that rob such will not be deprived of their livelyhood.

I saw a summary somewhere that EDUCATIONAL materials such as books and videos and instructional oriented items WERE permitted....and the word "Children" was used or was connoted. I guess some of the "How to Videos" at the places with the word "X" or Adult are not included in same...... There was a store in PA that did online orders and provided curb service to deliver to the customers. I never quite figured out of the ladies that occupied the back rooms as "movie mates" were going to do the delivery of the ugly fat old (broad or codger) that ran the cash register.

There is an establishment (NO PERSONAL knowledge) in Franklin County that still provides therautic massages and other services. They have (according a reliable source) a sign in form and waiver. If you are over the age of say 55, you are considered as high risk. They negotiated that with the local constable (again purportedly) as a customer had a coronary and they did not want to repeat the incident....but also to keep their lovely "attendendants" employed. I pass by it on the way to the farm and laugh. The proprietors have NICE PU trucks....so the margins may be above average. They DO have a neon OPEN sign. I shall slow down and make an observation next week. My partner of 55 years is not worried about me frequenting such places.

Go bang according to the guidelines (WOW....that could be interpreted another way....) Stay safe...

Yeah most anyone that in medical would love to made to stay home. I told my mom today that if she left the house again to go ahead and get a hotel to stay in. I think she got my point. We will be shrinking our office hours so we can close next week. Going to give our PPE we have in stock at work to rescue and hospital in Angier and Dunn.
