Overheard a coworker Saying her son shot himself in the hand over the weekend. My ears of course perked up a little and I wanted details. Unfortunately details were sketchy but from what she said he came home from the range put his left hand over the muzzle and shot a good piece of meat off around the palm on the side. She did not know really what happened.
I said he prob either dropped the mag forgetting to rack the slide or racked the slide dropped the mag and pulled the trigger. I said I am betting it was a Glock. She asked how I knew that. Told her he probably was taking it apart to clean and you need to pull the trigger to do that.
I wish I could have gotten a few pics for you all but suffice it to say that it looked painful. Least he is alive.
be careful everyone!

Yeah, THAT'LL leave a mark.

But the good news is it looks isolated to the skin and meat on the meaty side of his palm. Which means the bones and tendons in the rest of his hand are OK.

Still sucks, but it could have been way worse.

Hope he heals up OK and quickly.

The old law enforcement gun store in Raleigh- watched a employee put a gasp black talon in his palm. .45 acp no less. Nada - he got real lucky and regained 95% function of his hand- very lucky . Gave him grief every ipsc match asking if he was making major power factor. Detonics compact.
