For sale is a Craftsman 16.5HP Kohler 42” riding mower. It has the dual bag attachment too. I got it third-hand from my dad who bought it from the original owner. If I had to guess it’s a 90’s model. I watched the original owner (a neighbor) treat this machine like a baby (and his lawn too) while I grew up in FL.

It was running when I acquired it about 2 years ago. It sat through winter in the garage (winterized) and developed a cracked fuel line. The NC cold also provided the knock out punch for the dry rotted tires (originals). I spent last year tinkering with it, with the goal of getting it running and on the lawn again. Lack of funds hampered that at the time, and now I’m just bored with it. It’s more of a headache sitting in my garage now! It deserves a lawn and someone to keep up with it.

It has a new starter and two batteries—a WalMart cheap-o that I bought and an older Die Hard. No promises on their capacity. They’ll charge and hold enough to tinker with, but I can’t speak for beyond that.

It has a small tear in the foam seat, but it doesn’t make it uncomfortable or otherwise negatively impact the function.

I removed the rear wheels and started to pull the old rubber off with the intent to put new on. That proved to be an azz-kicker of a task and I gave up (they’d never been removed and I don’t have the gear to break a bead)! A tire shop will mount new rubber, or you can do it if you’re so-inclined.

Like I said, it ran just fine prior to becoming a stalled project that now collects junk in the garage—I swear it has magnetic abilities for that!

I’m asking $100. I can help deliver in its current condition on a trailer within a reasonable distance of Mint Hill. Comes with the tires someone gave me (might be a little too knobby for a lawn), bagging system, batteries, owners manual, mower, and keys.

    Lay tire/wheel flat
    Remove valve core
Place 5 or 6' long 2x10 on tire as in a ramp, with the end on the tire close to the bead, the other on ground.
Drive car/truck up ramp until bead breaks.

    :)
