I got an email from Optics Planet about Crimson Trace Red Lasers that are "Too Strong" if I understand it. Here is the crux of the models impacted.....Smith's from the factory OR some "Add ON Rail Mounted". I have TWO of the suckers and will have to check them out.....Here is a LINK to the Recall Notice....

Here is also the CRITICAL statements as to WHICH CT models are impacted.

Integrated M&P CTC RED LASER products: LX-380 (M&P Shield 2.0 Integrated Crimson Trace Red Laser 9 and 40), LX-380 (M&P BODYGUARD 380 Crimson Trace), LX-381 (M&P BODYGUARD 38 Crimson Trace). The vast majority of impacted integrated products are in the M&P BODYGUARD product line, and a limited number of M&P Shield products could be impacted. To determine if this safety recall applies to your integrated RED LASER, please utilize the firearm serial number verification tool on the consumer advisory page located at
crimsontrace.expertinquiry.com. (See below for instructions on integrated red laser products.)

UPDATE - Saturday PM. One "astute" and practical person replied as said...."OK, I MIGHT have a more powerful laser (which does NOT meet some idiotic clown's "radiation formula") that will allow me to see it faster and better....and probably stand out in ordinary lighting.....

OK...WHY would I want to send it back to be powered down?

Makes a lot of SENSE to me. I will compare, when I get home, a NON-Impacted CT Rail Laser with one that is IMPACTED. You gotta wonder WHO found this out....
