If you get resolution from Czechpoint and keep the rifle, I have five really goid, original metal mags I got with my VZ2008, I can't imagine using all of them. It may be a fit for your rifle. I'm more of an AR fan.

@charliesgrave that really sucks, man. Sorry to read such a frustrating write-up. Hopefully CSA and/or Brownells makes it right. Yours is about the worst review I've seen of these things, and I wonder if CSA followed Arsenal's lead on the newer 107R and hurried through a bunch of lemons without proper vetting.

These are really neat guns otherwise. I only have a bastard VZ2008 but it has been flawless in the five or so years I've had it - and no trigger gremlin. Only thing I don't like is the crazy sharp right angles at the back of the receiver, which have a knack for cutting my hand between the thumb and index finger when I shoot it a lot.

The CSA VZ58 has been on my short list for a while. Let us know how they treat you. I like the rifle and have a VZ2008 but I have never been happy with the trigger reset in it.

Damn thats a shame... the VZ58 always struck me as a cool rifle. Its sad that you got a lemon, and I hope they get it sorted for you.

I hope you get it worked out with Czechpoint. No experience with the semi auto guns but using real fixed and side folders in Iraq or Astan they work great. I've got 5000+ rds thru my 1960 and 1980 produced guns without issues.

Bumping this thread for an update and a couple questions for you, @charliesgrave. Have you shot yours any more since August? Still happy with it now that the gremlins were hopefully worked out?

Also, I have a lead on a nearly new, one-owner CZ-USA/D-Technik model. I've had a Century VZ2008 for years that has given me no problems at all, but I'm considering selling that to offset the cost of this 58. Not sure what your experience level is with the 2008, but do you think it's worth it to upgrade to a legit 58? What do you think is a fair price for a D-Technik?
