CZ homer here. I have 2 527 carbines, for now. One in .223 and one in 7.62x39. They aren't really varmint or target rifles like the 204 American. I like the set trigger. Mine both break a little under 1 lb. Nice for work off the bench. Without using the set I think they are both anout 3.5 lbs. Safe for hunting if that is your thing. I have read the normal trigger is also fairly easy to adjust if you want to. I also have 3 CZ rimfires. They are all nice guns. They are known for having good hammer forged barrels. The common things I have read about the CZ rifles is to check the torque on the action screws and serious target/varmint shooters seem to all bed them. I have never bedded a rifle so I haven't done that yet. Maybe with the next one since it will be more of a target rifle than my carbines.
Older 527's had bolt handles that didn't leave much room for a large scope. The newer ones seeem to have fixed that. But there are some aftermarket handles available. The 527's have a 16mm rail so it does limit your ring selection. I usually buy Warnes. DIP makes a rail for 527's if you want to open up the options a little. J&P makes some action screws and springs for 527's too.
