I know I know I just kicked the bee hive. Oh well! Lol

Any way I'm looking at maybe another 22 rifle.... I have a savage b22 fv-sr that I LOVE!!!!

The 2 choices are the savage mark ii TR or the CZ 455 varmint.

The savage comes with a decent stock.

CZ will get a better stock down the road.

They both seem to be in the same price range. Both are good guns. I have owned a mark ii TR that I really regret selling.

I'm leaning to the CZ just because I don't have one and they make very nice rifles. Any input would be much appreciated. Now let the fight being!! Lol

I don't have a 455, but happy to let you play with an fvsr in a tacticool stock and/or a 452 in a couple stock configurations.

Just need a place.

The CZ can't be beat for the money. It is more accurate than the savage or any of the Anshultz for under $1500. They are just awesome. I have owned 3 different cz 452's and 1 455 as well as a Savage. I have never been disappointed with any of them but the Savage just couldn't hang with the CZ's close but no cigar. All of them have been capable of that accuracy with stand CCI Blazer ammo with the occasional flyer. They actually lose accuracy with the eley ammo. The wolf match extra works good in them to.

My CZ 455 Tacticool wasn't even close to my Savage at 50 or 100 yards. I guess I had a dud. I think the accuracy of the CZ was acceptable by most standards, even mine, had I not had the Savage consistently shoot better. The CZ is definitely built better.

No experience with a Savage. Both my CZ's will make small clover leaf holes at 50 yards consistently with a bipod and no rear bag. And me shooting. With cheap ammo. My guess is they could do very well with a skilled shooter and the right ammo. Plus there is a lot of online support and information on getting the most out of your CZ if precision shooting or competition is your thing.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm still not 100% on which way I'm going.

I have handled both. The CZ is a nicer gun but needs upgrades ( stock, trigger work). I have owned a savage TR and with cci standard I could hit a 2" steel target all day at 100yds. No joke.

Hmmmm this is hard!!! Lol the reason I'm getting another is my pops has laid clam to my savage b22 fv-sr.

Try 1/4" plate at 100 yards! That's where the boys begin to leave the men be.

Shut up!!! Lol it was the smallest target I owned at the time. Just built a new target with 1" steel squares. Should be fun. Need to get one of those like what you picked up with the different sizes.

I can't decide so screw it. Instead I'm going to buy a new stock for my b22 and my axis project. And pick up that old 22 rifle my local has for $100.... Lol

The KYL rack is no joke. It's too easy at 50 but once you get to 70 or so things change quite a bit.
Where would one buy such a thing? I see old listings various places, but no links to current production. Could be my google-fu, I seem to be way off today.

My son has the Savage with a Vortex Diamondback HP. I have the CZ 455. Both shoot good but the CZ455 shoots tiny groups with a lower end scope and low priced ammo. The CZ is by far a superior built gun. Magazines for a CZ are priced way too high.

Next purchase of a 22 will be another CZ.

You know pictures of the $100 .22 are required if you go that route.

I don't know if this is the same person, but this has been on Snipers Hide since March. He has 100yd KYL targets available now:

Thanks all, will reach out tonight...will be setting it up in my urban backyard at 100' for pellet gun use.

That is the aforementioned Mike Smith.

I thought that might be the case as the gravel and cacti looked familiar. ;)

On a side not his plate sizes on the 100yd rack ( 6" in 0.5" steps down to 2" ) would make an excellent everyday 150yd - 175yd KYL, and 200yds on a calm day. :D

Ok, a different review from me.
Back a while ago , I bought a Savage MK 2, bull barrel, found it to be accurate and started competing in 50 yard bench rest comps. Then I read that the Boyd tacticool stock helped in accuracy so I installed one.
My comp scores of 100 shots didn't increase, guess the stock didn't help ? Im still getting second place finishes from a guy shooting a CZ 452.
Convinced that the CZ is for me, yeah I know it costs more, so I bought a CZ 455 Tacticool which already had the nice stock and bedded the reciever.
Im still not seeing any difference per 100 shots as compared to my much cheaper Savage, but one had to go ? So I sold the savage since everyone says the CZ is so much better.
2 years later competing and Im looking at past records I keep and realize that the cheaper Savage was just as good if not better then my CZ 455.
Your results might vary. Hope this helps someone..
