They are local to me. I had one of their holsters for a XD-s a few years ago and it was gtg (before I decided to just carry a full-size HK in a Garrett). My dad still uses a DARA and has had it for a few years and no problems.

I drive by all the time and always say I should drop in and check it out but never have... Their stuff looks legit...

I've bought from them ever since they opened. Their kydex is fine stuff, and I like that they're local.

FYI, they don't have a storefront as such. You can arrange to pick up your order locally but you have to let them know you're coming.

I can't say they're head-and-shoulders better than anybody else, but they're local and their products are solid and well backed by service.

    Just my $0.02 ...

I believe they are legit, and have seen some, but not the retention ones.

Have you looked into the Safariland 578 Profit GLS holsters? I am using this with my CZ TSO and now my P-10F. Works with both.

    edit: What pistol you using?

    XD(m) 4.5" with an RMR
    Left Handed

I want the "hood" mechanism on this holster specifically for more active comps like Run n Gun. I don't think the 578 GLS does that.

I have not used Dara, but if you're looking for options Gould and Goodrich is a NC company that makes a decent leather thumb-break rig. Lawmen's stocks their products I think so you should be able to get your hands on one to check it out.

I have a couple G&G holsters for EDC, but a thumb break isn't going to work for this application. I need the retention offered by a 'covered' back side, but also need to be able to re-holster and have that retention pop back in place on its own. I don't want to be fiddling around with a snap in the middle of a stage or while transitioning back to/from the rifle.

Im looking at one of their OWB holsters as well for my p10c. Since it has so much adjust-ability, itll be good for open carrying with a jacket.

Yeah...I’d never heard of them (even though Wendell is my dad’s hometown), so two threads this close together seemed weird. :D

I used one way back when, when I dabbled with IDPA and a grock 34. Dang fine holster that worked very well.

I've had a Dara holster for 4-5 years, and it is well made. I don't have any experience with their retention holsters though.

I don't have any experience with their retention holsters either but I've used their IWB models for several years almost daily. Fit is good and they've held up well. They seem to make a good product.
