Darwin strikes again

Nature is what it is.

It’s to be enjoyed and it can be enjoyed when out in it, but lose respect for what it is capable of and it can dole out some harsh consequences.

Hate it for them and their families.

My family lives in that area and I regularly hunt there. I'm surprised they lasted that long.

They starved I assume?

I see people overestimating their abilities all the time. More often than not they're well educated, but still not what I'd call smart. Along with their education comes a false sense of intellectual superiority. So in this case, they watched a few videos and thought "How hard can this be? If they can do it so can we.".

Went out in the fall and decided to camp above 9500, not sure what videos they watched, but not good ones.

People often don’t notice that most folks living a subsistence lifestyle don’t live long, not even the ones doing it well. I guess they don’t have videos by the dead folks.

Apparently they missed the YouTube on Chris McCandless.
