Hey y'all! I'd like to verify whether or not my idea is a good one before I spend money.

I got a Vortex Venom red dot sight for my Glock 34 that I definitely love. It's great. Gets my eyes on target quick. But I currently do not have iron sights that cowitness with it, and I fear that hinders or may hinder my precision in controlled firing (slow fire at the range basically). I would like to get some sights that give a proper cowitness. Supposedly Vortex itself suggests Dawson Precision.

That is well and good. However the.420 sights (whose advocates I've read from state these provide a proper lower 1/3 cowitness with a Vortex Venom) do not have an option for tritium rear and tritium front.

.420 does have an option for fiber optic front/black rear:

.495 on the other hand, does have an option for tritium rear and tritium front:

I want the tritium front and rear personally, because like the low/no-light visibility they provide, but .420 is the one recommended by Vortex, not .495. What would happen if I got the .495 set? Would it be a center cowitness instead of a lower 1/3 cowitness? Or would it utterly screw things up and be unusable?

Also, if Dawson Precision does in fact have a .420 height tritium front/rear set that I somehow missed because I'm blind and can't use their awkward search function, please let me know via a link to the set.

Additionally, if you have suggestions for other sights that would work without modification to the slide with a Vortex Venom on a Glock MOS, please feel free to mention them.

Thanks y'all! :D

How would not having a set of co-witness iron sights hinder your percision?

Pretty sure DP can/will do whatever you want for sights, if you call 'em. Can't speak to the rest, but when I'm ready for co-witness sights for my Gen5 G34, I'll be calling them.

Your precision shots will come with using the dot. Zero the dot, put the dot on what you want to shoot, make a good trigger press.

Now if you want backup iron sights (BUIS) in case your optic gets damaged or stops working for some reason, that's fine. But for precision work the dot is best. Unless you are using a huge dot, 8-12 moa, on close targets, then I would suggest getting a smaller ( 3 moa or less ) dot.
