Hey guys! A couple CFF members asked me to put a Defensive Handgun 101 class on the books so we scheduled one last minute for THIS Sunday. I have updated the schedules but wanted to make a post. It is 12pm-6pm (I do not like to shoot during church hours) and is only $100. 300 rounds required. IF you are a supporting CFF member, I will give you $10 off! Come train with some fellow CFF guys for this awesome fundamentals course.

I didn't see you posted this and asked you sign me up in the October class link.

300 rounds? I will only attend if i can shoot 500 rounds :D a side note, does the current curriculum include the shooting while moving and that one where you turn around and shoot target numbers based on location? I need a bunch more practice on those. Also, the "Food Court" scenario was really good. Hopefully i will shoot fewer posts and lane markers this Sunday? I killed one fiberglass lane marker, put the last round through a 2x4 target stand and it fell over (all those holes were not me!) and shot a paper target clip. I was on a roll. People ask why i take all these classes, its because how bad i suck at shooting.:)

I think you're just aiming for the smaller targets to challenge yourself more :) that's what I'll tell people anyway for the right price haha! 300 rounds. This is just the 101 6hr class so sadly, it doesn't include those. That's in the 102 class. This one does include the moving target and will include a few brain exercises!

This sounds like something @Millie might be interested in
I'm very interested in this, but will have to try it another time, if it's offered again. Not sure I'm skilled enough to try moving targets just yet. I'm still at the pre-kindergarten stage of shooting, I'm pretty sure! Lol...let me get a in few more shooting lessons with Tony and we'll see what I can do.

Is this in Walnut Cove? I have 2-3 friends that need this. It would do me good to get more practice, too.

Ryan can send the address, but i think it is near Germanton more so than Walnut Cove proper.

I agree with you, the practice thing is why ill go. I am a member of Sportmans Lodge in Yadkin county so i can shoot there, but if you take a class at Apex, the second and third time the price goes down... What this means is i can shoot OUTDOORS and get some training scenarios in, plus hang out with like minded people for a reasonable amount. It's my wifes fault, she told me to get a hobby. I know guys who spend a lot of money on playing golf... I just choose to do training with pistol and carbine, plus throw in some med classes and whatever else i can attend. It's all good stuff.

Millie, we actually start kindergarten slow and work our way up to it. If you have any doubts, I promise you will be fine. If you arent comfortable doing something, we will pull you off 1 on 1 with one of the other instructors until you get there. The moving target will come at the very end of class just to show you how far yo have progressed from the beginning to the end. :)

Variable gets enough practice for everyone with us! :) He is 2018 MVP client for sure. But he is right. After the 2nd class is $50 off every class you take with us. We also offer repeat classes at 50% off. So when you are paying $50 to come shoot for 6 or 8 hours getting reps in its worth it to a lot of people. Its why we do it. To keep guys like V coming back out! :) Overtime we all become great friends, or like ugly bald uncles in Vs case. :)

Ahh, you say this nicest things. Do i get a trophy for 2018 MVP? I think i should. Something in walnut or mahogany and brass with a plaque that says "To the greatest ugly and bald uncle we put up with this year!" that would be nice. I could take it to the wife and show her and she would be proud.

What a great idea! Let me see what I can do! :) Sort of like the crazy bald uncle from the Adams family!

I'll definitely take a class at some point then! It does sound really cool. Just know that I'm old(ish) and out of shape and haven't shot much in 35+ years, with the exception of my CC class and some shooting with some nice gentlemen from the forum who let me try their guns (very much fun!), and one (so far) class with Tony at Jim's in Fayetteville, where I discovered the perfect gun for me. I'm definitely a new shooter!
I'll look up directions to your place soon, and see how far away you are. Do you offer this class every month?

Awesome! All of us, including myself, never truly stop learning and developing our skills. We do not. It most likely will not be on the books until January. We have a 4hr beginner class in December. However, if there is enough interest in another 101 class before January's we can add it to the books. We also offer private classes Monday-Friday.

January is my favorite time of year!
I'll try for that one...perfect.
And maybe do the December beginner class in preparation for the January class!
I bet you're a long way from Wagram, though....everywhere is a long way from here...(sigh)
But the class in January sounds too good to pass up. How early do I have to register?

We will begin registration for that class around mid-november and it will go until class is full.

Another excellent class! This one had a few less students, which allowed plenty of one-on-one time for each student.
Some of the shooters arrived with very little experience. But, we all were shooting much better at the end of the day.
I brought my better -half this time, and she also had a great day. We both agreed that there was a lot of information covered in six hours. She's looking forward to the next one.
Just like previous classes, this class was full of helpful, friendly people. It was a pleasure spending the day with them. I hope we get to train together some more.

Thanks again to Ryan and Bush, you guys run a top-notch business!

Thank you for the kind words and for coming out! It was awesome having you out today and meeting your better-half! Awesome shooters, both of you! I hope to have you both back out here! -Ryan

It was a good class, surprisingly i was pretty tired at the end of the night. This is the second or third class where someone discovered a double action revolver or their tiny (concealable) gun was actually not something they wanted to continue with. A good dose of reality is something else we learn when you a forced to train with your firearm. A lot of folks are carrying a gun they have had for years and have ever actually trained hard with it.

Defensive Handgun 101 - excellent class with alot of real world applications and drills on how to prepare. A world of difference between target shooting at the range and shooting to stay alive. Really opened my eyes. Mainly went to correct some issues with shooting at a paper target. Found out what was I doing wrong and how much more there is. If your intent is to have a gun so you can protect yourself you definitely need a class like this to teach you how. Plus you will have alot of fun shooting 300+ rounds.

yup, after class, my neighbor asked me to take her shopping for a better replacement. :) and she's also asked if she can join us more on our trips to the range.
I was really happy they both enjoyed it enough to talk about more classes!

Steve, you were shooting very well! That .45 is a lot in a small package!

This happens very often! Their neighbor or gun store clerk points them to the Ruger LC9 or double action revolver and they struggle with a 13lb trigger pull. Especially in the beginner classes or female only classes. Thanks for coming out as always, and for helping answer questions when Bush and I were tied up!

That is awesome! This is why we do it, to further on the training and knowledge to people who NEED it. As our company motto goes-train to live, not just survive. By that we mean dont just train to shoot your gun if an attacker every comes through your door. I mean sure thats fine. However one should train to live. Live your life with confidence, live your life with your handgun knowing you can deploy it effectively if necessary, live always looking for danger, but prepared for the danger as well. We will all get scared when the moment comes, but walking away safe with your loved ones safe as well... with the confidence you can make that shot, or avoid that threat so no shot is needed, or put on that tourniquet and save that life, etc... that is living.
