What are you having, just wondering. The time of year I have to eat well and get into shape for my on coming War with the Fireants. I believe this year they have brought in a New Ruthless Leader and thousands of reinforcements.
Well I gotta go to lowes and get some stuff to add a receptacle the wall behind the tv where I just wall mounted it, may go to Cracker Barrel and have a light breakfast of biscuits and gravy

I feel the Fire ants are going to be a pisser this year.
Along with the skeeters

To be fair...members that ought to know better...@cowboy @Oneofsix @hlpressley .... once again can't help themselves from commenting on BST posts they have no business in. @Cowboy asked a question, that didn't need asking...and then engaged in a pissing match.

It's a pretty damned simple rule that certain member can't get through their skulls....stay out of BST posts unless you're BUYING or SELIING.

Now we have to clean up after grown men that can't keep their traps shut. Again.

Yes...the seller overreacted like a damn fool. But, none of it was necessary.
I love it

No opinion on Cracker Barrel but I do have something to say about the receptacle. While you have the wall open, you might consider provisions for HDMI, audio, etc. All my cabling comes in from behind the TV so there’s nothing showing .

I’m halfway through the second page...don’t have the stamina to make it any further. Someone wake me up if it gets good...

I really do take offense at the way you categorize me. I've never known that the BST threads being locked down so tight that you can not ask questions. And as far a pissing contest goes I didn't respond in any way being a jerk but the other guy did. So why not call him out as well. Crap I went to bed not think anything about this and wake up to a WTF I am I being called out situation.

Who knows? I don’t know Tim, but he obviously doesn’t know me either. I’m not one to allow someone to attack my character and not respond. However, I prefer in person interaction as it generally leads to a more genuine response.
Though I prodded this a bit in another response, you're going a bit overboard and in reallity acting just as irrational as the original OP.... we all agreed to abide by certain rules and should not get butt-hurt and act childish when being reminded..! I think the founders and foundation of our forum is top notch and very fair.... and obviously very secure in who they are... otherwise many would be banned for BS statements

Here my takez away.
1 what was the add for.
2 Tim has a tendency to be abrasive.
3 I can't judge the add to see if anything to see if I feel there was ad stomping.
3 BST only sellers don't deserve the protection of all the forums rules.
4 What kind of sausage for breakfast
Neese's sausage. Grits are delicious a d home fries are too. I dont choose between the two I get both.

This is one of the balancing acts for the mods. There was already a storm brewing about that poster, apparently @BurnedOutGeek decided to post in public what should normally be posted by PM to relieve some pressure, and it seems to have worked. He is tasked with making such decisions and taking such actions. Other owners/mods could decide that he should have done something differently and coached him on it or fired him, and maybe that happened, we have no need to know.

I just asked a question not even intending to be a jerk.

Just to bust your balls on a Sunday morning, so your intent was to help the forum members that can’t read? Seriously, the BST has plenty of opportunity for such questions, even to asking if a certain Glock is priced in Bolivars or Dollars, which I’ve been tempted to do. The reality is if the answer to a question doesn’t provide new information then the intent of the question must be something other than to obtain information. By the way, I am just busting your balls, these kinds of questions are common in BST, and the spotlight ONLY swung to you because the guy overreacted; you spit in his direction, he peed on your dog.

That being said, I also think that contributing members who help keep the lights on ($$$) should have more leeway than a squatter who just shows up to sell their junk. If said member is courteous, and said non member gets pissy, I think it’s clear who should be shown the door.
Agree 100%, but that’s not today’s set of facts, here everyone has a little blame.

As for important things, breakfast was 2 cups of coffee, 3 eggs over easy covered in chili paste, and 2 Soma.

Damn! Is someone outraged? I missed it. Maybe if I had any money I would be in the BST and would't have missed all the outrage and hurt feelings?

This seems to be a common problem. There have been several threads about this topic recently. Non contributing members come here and act like their silly BST thread is their private throne room or something.

There is an expression in ham radio, an area where conflict naturally arises because of different personalities all sharing the same space with neither of them having ownership of it. It’s actially more than an expression and it’s the FCC directive: courtesy should be the prevailing order. I think it applies well here too.

That being said, I also think that contributing members who help keep the lights on ($$$) should have more leeway than a squatter who just shows up to sell their junk. If said member is courteous, and said non member gets pissy, I think it’s clear who should be shown the door.

One other thing I have noticed, and it seems to crop up in this BST threads predominantly, is the matter of who owns the site. Yes, there is a group of people who put their names on a legal charter. Yes, they do contribute and have made a sacrifice. I am not questioning or trying to demean that, but I just don’t get why it becomes such an issue in these BST threads.
While we would like to see every member be a contributing member, it is not a requirement to participate in the forum. It would be nice to have the extra funds on hand and for site upgrades and our giveaways. We owners do not make anything from this forum, we put all funds back into the forum. For our 1st anniversary we gave a lucky subscribed member a new Ruger 10/22 takedown rifle. For our 2nd anniversary, we gave away 13 different prizes to subscribed members. And, there were other giveaways throughout the year. Subscribed members also get a little Thank You package from @Butter . I'm not aware of any other places that do this.

So, in a way, subscribed members do get a little more leeway because they are eligible for the giveaways and non subscribed members are not.

There was another threat about this topic, but I never received an answer to this question:

Why does the seller deserve so much protection versus all the buyers?

If this website was for Commerce such as Armslist or GunBroker, then I can understand that mindset. But since we are a forum, which by its nature its only value is in its discussion, why are we limiting discussion just because people want to sell stuff?

I still vote that we change the the rules and offer no such protection. An ad is still just another thread on this gun Forum. The contents of the ad can be discussed like all the other threads on this forum. If it turns into the Wild Wild West, so be it. Who knows what will happen until we give it a try.

And Animal Farm is about the corruption of power. After the Revolt the animals did have the choice of staying or going. They stayed because they believed that having their own as leadership would be better for them. In the end they learned, power corrupts.

Edit to Add: It also provides insight as to how leadership justifies each decision they make as they go down that well beaten path.
