Denton Military Vehicle and Gun Show. April 24-25th.

We did that two years. Was a fun time.
 
A friend and I will be there.
Looking forward to a Huey ride again.
 
Me the wife enjoy this show!! Please someone bring their better half so she'll have someone to ride the train with. :)
Might bring a few đź‘»Ak's to sell or trade.... Still not 100% sure on that one.
 
I've never been to this but it seems up my alley.

How does the swap meet work? Just pull up and open up your trunk or are people roaming around with rifles that have signs sticking out of the barrel like at gun shows?
 
Last time I was at this show, the gun show was in one very small building and the rest (vehicles/non-gun) were outdoors. I believe the outdoors folks had to reserve and pay for their spots to park and camp not unlike the gunshow folks have to reserve and pay for their spots. There were some folks roaming around with signs, as I recall, but not that many at all. I do not know what it will be like this year though.
 
Back home now. It was neat little show. The helicopter rides canceled due to weather. It was mostly a swap meet for military vehicles.

The guys putting on the shoot were great. They had
2 x Browning 1919
M60
M249
M2
M16
SAW
Minigun

They were all setup for blanks so no live fire. Price to shoot was about $0.50 a round except for the M2. It was 67 rounds for $50. At first I thought it was a little expensive but thinking about ammo prices and then the cost of the guns and having to relink the belts for next time, it was kinda cheap.

The guys running it were really great, they were very patient with each person that wanted to give it a go, from the 8 year old kid at a 1919 to the 50 something guy waving the M60 around like Rambo trying to clear a field.

I got out of the Army before they transitioned from the M60. I told them that and I hadn't seen its replacements. They let me look at the 249 and the SAW. They took the time to show me how they operated and some of the advantages the new ones had over the M60.
 
Very cool. Me and my BIL went to Knob Creek MG shoot one time. Got to see many many cool rattle guns and got to shoot a few too. Too many things going on this weekend and next. Was just down that way last weekend.

I would recommend Knob Creek shoot also,everyone needs to go at least 1 time.
