Anyone have one? How do you like it?

Are there any dealers in NC that have one on hand? I’d like to handle one if possible, because holy jeez that’s a lot of money.

I had an SRS A1. It’s the only firearm I regret purchasing…

Please excuse the photo. It was taken for Prime prior to Shot Show several years ago.

I’ve seen people raving about how great they are online, but this is what I’m more interested in - what didn’t you like?

Please keep in mind this is a sample size of one. I know several people that are very pleased with them. I would absolutely get behind one before purchasing.

Purchased new from an authorized dealer in 2017.

Positives:
- Compact
- Well balanced

Negatives:
- Barrel had to be replaced (accuracy)
- Inconsistent RTZ after barrel changes (Borka DTA torque limiter)
- Feeding issues
- Poor fit and finish
- Magazines
- Trigger
- Use of a rear bag could be challenging (I don’t care for monopods)
- Support side shooting

Neutral:
- Barrel extensions
- Bolt manipulation

Funny @0724/1030 that your barrel had to be changed. I have a buddy that has one and his had to be changed too. He likes it after it went back to them a couple of times.

How old was his?

@0724/1030 Thanks for the feedback. Was the dealer in NC?

The fit/finish is concerning considering the price. I’ve read some posts about MDR QC issues that have made me hesitate on the SRS. What did you see on yours?

The dealer I received mine from was not in NC. The DT dealer locator shows a dealer in Monroe, NC and a few in SC.

Regarding fit and finish, there was an overall lack of refinement throughout the rifle and its components I would not expect and from a rifle system in its price range. Unless I had defined criteria that lead me to the “Don’t Take it Anywhere(couldn't help myself), I would be hard pressed to spend my money with them over other competing platforms.

If the custom route is a consideration, I'd strongly recommend a call to Gray Sloan at Swift Creek Rifles to discuss build options and timelines. He is an excellent smith and a hell of a good guy.

No joke, I'm dead serious.

An older guy at a local range had one a while back. He would pull the trigger once while it was in a rest and then wander from bay to bay telling everyone how much he paid for it and how he scoured the United States to get an extra barrel and how much that cost. Oh, and how incredible the accuracy was (he was shooting at 100 yards).
I tried to ignore him, but even while loading mags, shooting, even while looking at my target downrange with my spotting scope he just kept taking about it. I finally left to get away from him and he continued talking about it the whole time I was loading up my stuff and putting it all in the trunk. I half expected him to run along side my car on the way out.

So I don't know if they're very good rifles, but they're very expensive rifles.

Well I definitely don’t plan on being that guy, I usually keep to myself while shooting unless someone asks me directly.

The SRS was always one of my dream rifles, just because of how odd it is. I’ve always had a soft spot for bullpups.

Maybe the A2s are a little better built over the A1s? I definitely need to see one in person it sounds like.

Looks like no dealers in the state have any on display, and the nearby SC ones are the same.

Still debating, I’ve heard on other forums that the A2s are put together a bit better.
