I picked up a Diamond Back DB10 ELFD (https://diamondbackfirearms.com/col...cts/diamondback-db10elfde?variant=30684391948) for $880 OTD (including CC fee) at the Asheville show today. I've been in the market for an AR10 and was planning a build, but this one caught my eye and the price was right. I wasn't planning on buying anything today, so I only had ~$100 on me. The dealer closed the sale by dropping $20 off his ticket price and covering taxes & CC fee.
I did some quick googling while at the show and saw mostly positive reviews about the actual rifle and mostly negative reviews about the company. So, I know going in that any issues are going to be a pain. With that in mind, I gave it a close inspection and really like what I found.
Magpul MOE grip and CTR stock
billet upper and lower
nicely machined and properly staked BCG
cheap AF charging handle
Magpul 20 round magazine
18" stainless fluted barrel
decent handguard, though I wish it had machining for a bipod stud rather than key lock.
mid length gas
I don't hunt that much any more, and truly long range shooting is a rarity for me. So, my intention is to sell off the Savage bolt gun that is my "long range" and the Ruger GSR that I hunt with. This rifle should fill both purposes adequately.
Now to figure out what glass to put on it! Will likely repurpose the Vortex PST that's on the Savage now.
