Did You Go Shooting Today

Not sure exactly, the steel is fixed in place and only for birdshot, 25yds my estimate.
I think they allow buckshot, but only lead. No slugs. I think it is 25 yards.

ON EDIT: They changed the rule for shotguns, only slugs are allowed now.

Uhmm, yup. Last match of the year in Statesville. Shot 1853 Naval Carbine 58cal, 1842 Harpers 69cal, 1862 Colt 58cal and 10lb Parrott rifle (just over 3in bore). You guys?

Frontline Defense on Friday 4:30 had the rimfire range all to myself, another member on the 1,000yd,
another arrived later on pistol steel. Adjusted zero on my .22lr Uzi by Walther then hit some steel on the
new 500yd range with my M&P 15x.

*** FYI *** Slugs are required for shotguns, as posted, no other ammo at this time.

Yes, ran some 45/70 target and then some hunting loads out to 200yds through the Marlin GG. The AR was intimidated  and stayed in the truck.

Forgot to post in here last TUE. Took 2 Brits shooting at Triangle Shooting Academy with the help of some coworkers. Made sure they got a full experience.
10/22
Px4 Storm
SP-101
Glock 23
Neos
AR-15
12 g
Walther P99

Now there are 2 more Brits in the world who don’t demonize guns.

Shot the vintage rifle match up at PHA yesterday morning, although not with a vintage rifle (shot my NRA/CMP service rifle). Cold and overcast, but it was good to get in some desperately needed match practice.

I used to get in about 500 rounds per month. All things considered, that's not a lot. It was spread over 6-7 range sessions a month. Half of that testing "new to me" revolvers. But, all of these J and K Frames shoot about the same so it's like practicing with the same gun. Came out to somewhere around 6000 rounds per year...5500 or so from revolvers. I found diminishing returns with long range sessions.

It's a lot fewer rounds these days. Wish that I could just step outside and shoot. But, my neighbors around this little lot in suburban Charlotte would be pissed.

I see the numbers climbing again. It's because of the recent early and Third Generation Smith purchases.

Shoot after midnight...they'll be asleep. :D

Went to PBR in Mooresville this morning with my wife. We fired 300 rounds of Blazers out of my M & P 22C.

Went to PBR raange in Mooresville on Friday. My wife and I only fired 150 rounds of CCI Mini Mags when the back sight flew off of our M & P 22C. We couldn't find the spring that is under it for me to put it back together again so that ended our day earlier then we wanted since I hadn't brought anything else to shoot with us.

Mid week last week my wife announced she'd like to get her concealed carry permit and could we go to the range Saturday.

This happens about as often as a Chinese Space Shuttle crash.

Off to ENC we went with an assortment of revolvers, autoloader pistols and a couple cans. All in all she shot pretty well and REALLY liked the vintage High Standard 22. She really did NOT like the P3AT 380 keltec (snappy recoil, looong trigger) and liked the Model 10 revolver. It was a beautiful day, we had a perfect spot at the range and we unloaded about 3-400 rounds . She did pretty well !

GREAT shot Mr Rudder!
Thanks! Frame grabbed from a slo-mo video my wife shot. Then I handed the gun to her and she shot a round with it. :)

That shot was with H-110 powder, 44mag. VV N-110 doesn't flash like that.

Took about 8 armored vehicles out the range today. Watched over the miniguns firing and Carl Gustav recoilless rifles, (later tore down and inspected/gaged). Lots of shooting and local Afghan villages waited patiently for us to clear out so they could conduct brass pickup. Had a good day and I never even fired a single round.

Finally straightened out my grip on a 1911 Wednesday. Squeeze front to back with strong hand, and side to side with support hand, getting as much of the heel of my support hand on the grip as possible.

That leaves my support thumb flying like a flag but recoil management is much improved.

Actually, I did.
Took my new SP5K out, and needed to fire a Christmas gift from this past year (the Glock) for the first time.

All three guns were SO. DANG. SMOOTH.
Just dreams to shoot.

Ran through 200 rounds too quickly lol

Went to TSA today. A friend of mine who is a college student had picked up a good deal on an M1 Garand and could not wait to try it out. He is a big fan of just about anything WWII and had been wanting a Garand for a while. I brought along a few rounds and he shot one clip - it ran flawlessly.

Then I let him shoot my 44mag and 10mm guns.

He was one happy person when he left the range.

Finally got to the range for the first time since moving here. Recently got in at SSI so hoping to get out monthly.

Brought out my three full size pistols and my carry gun along with an AK and an AR. Good times.

8 yards. Which would you keep? I was SHOCKED by the DAO P290RS. Other Sig not too shabby either.

AK from 100 yards with a Holosun 503G ACSS red dot. I’ll take that for these old eyes!

FLD was having another competition this weekend, everything closed but the 100yd rifle, so I went to DPRC today as a guest. Awesome facility. I shot 7 different guns, 6 different calibers. We had one of the small pistol/rifle ranges to ourselves to start with, then moved to the 100-300 yard rifle range.

I took a few guns out that I had not shot in a while. AR in 450B, AR 9mm, AR 5.56 carbine, Mossberg 22, Browning Hipower. I ended up spotting for @Bullseye Baldee while he was sighting in his Sharps replica 45/70. He was launching (I think) 450gn lead bullets, and in the sunlight I could see the bullets traveling downrange in a huge arc. Pretty cool.
