Did You Go Shooting Today

I did.
Got "back on the horse" as advised, and shot the revolver a bit (till I tasted the lead) then 50 rounds in the G19.
Will go back before the week is over and shoot the 1911 .45 some.
Missed meeting Mattyb and Mrs. Mattyb, but traffic/construction held me up. He kindly left speedloaders for me with Alex at the range, and I'll try them out tomorrow, very carefully!

Shot 300 rounds through a Glock 34 at DPRC today. Working on double TAPS at 15 and 20 yards on the NRA D1 Target. Trying to get ready for the Glock match on Father's Day weekend.

Just home from shooting. Shot the .45 1911 (purposely) about 50 rounds, the G19 about 150 rounds, and the P238 about 50 rounds. All these will be in a competition of some sort, I hope, so they needed the action! I'm moving past my "incident" a bit....

I have a 1944 M1 Garand that I only take out 2-3 times a year. Being the 75th anniversary of D-Day today, I took the the day off from work so I could take it to the range. I was the only person there when I arrived, so I thought it would end up being a quick visit. I set the target out, got back to the bench, loaded a clip and started firing. I heard someone drive up just as I was finishing the first clip. I struck up a conversation with them and offered to let them shoot the old gun. Both were veterans and jumped at the opportunity, one of them even said his uncle landed on the beach at Normandy. A moment later someone else drove up and I made the same offer. They were veterans, too, all from around the Vietnam era. It was one of the more enjoyable trips to the range that I’ve ever had.

I really love that old gun, not so much for what it is, but for what it represents. It would be nice if an old gun could talk, but since all of the old Garands are mix-matched parts, each part of that gun would have a different story to tell. Just like those old veterans I talked to.

At Triangle Shooting Academy this morning, tried out my NIB circa 2006 police trade in S&W 990L .40S&W 50 rounds and it shoots nice,
it has same lever mag release as my H&K P30, ran 50 round in and the S&W 4006 TSW CHP as well.

Gunbelt and his pal Tommy Just drove out the gate. We had Geezer and "Doc" also. Garvin has returned from Alaska and was in for a visit. I am happy to report that at the end of our meeting today we have solved ALL the problems facing the world. Now....if we can Just get "them" to do it our way...all will be well.

Another great day at Battery Oaks. @garvin made it back from his great northern adventure and it was good to see him back home where he belongs. @gunbelt and his buddy Tommy kept us laughing all afternoon. And of course, my ol' pard @BatteryOaksBilly kept everyone in line and didn't let the tall tales get too far out of hand. "I woke up in the emergency room...."

RS fed me well today since Mrs Geezer is in Texas visiting her sister until July 9. And speaking of no adult supervision, it seems that Billy and I both are on our own for a few days. What could possibly go wrong? We're just going to supper one day, that's all. Honest.

The two of you should high-tail it up here. I’ll teach you both how to shoot. :D

Been wanting to go shooting for the last week but we have been getting in our area 3+ inches a rain in a day. Tomorrow is suppose to be the worst then the rain percentage start going down.

I shot 50 rounds in the .45, had 1 fail. to feed. Shot 150 rounds in the G19, no issues. Just another hot, sweaty day at the range. Stress-free in Fayetteville traffic going home at 7 pm.....
1 malfunction in 50 rounds…………..welcome to the 1911 platform. I'm sure it's just a "break in " period thing:rolleyes:

Sure it is! LOL. I'll just "break it in" till I break it, like the other one.

(I bought this one used, unlike the other one.)

I did! I shot the 1911 .45 (50 rounds), the p238 (50 rounds), and the Glock 19 (150 rounds).
Did well with the .45, less well with the Sig and less well still with the G19 (but still in a dinner-plate sized group....sort of.) The Glock is a work in progress.....
Any day at the range is a good day for de-stressing for me, so I'm good.

Yep. With this dude. Another beautiful and fun day @Panteao Sportsman's Club.

While he has been shooting with me quite a bit over the last two years I finally attached the Spectre II suppressor to his Walther PPQ M2 Tactical .22LR pistol now that he is big enough to hold it and shoot it. My boy plowed through 250 rounds and was banging steel at 25 yards easily.

So proud. He is very safe and follows ALL the gun safety rules, has a blast shooting, and was begging to go back next week to shoot again. This is going to be a fun summer!
